Originally a b21f bw55 car that I bought from Simon Babbs. I bought the 242 a fews years ago for the rear end that had a 1031 with a turetrack. My white wagon had blown up the rear end, might as well buy the whole car and use the rear end for my wagon. After swapping the rear end back to another 1031 that was a open diff, my brother and I were left with a stock 242. The old b21f was worn out and not worth keeping in the car. My brother and I decided to build a V8 242 since we already done a wagon V8.

A lot of maintenance was complete before doing the V8 swap. All the calipers, brake pads, rubber brake lines were replaced plus the master cylinder. Heater core and blower motor was replaced. Shocks were replaced with KYB inserts and IPD lowering springs.

Here some pictures what I can find doing the swap

Sold the car maybe a over a year ago, Can't remember how long it been. I had to chance to buy it back from the owner I sold it to. The PO added some Ben's hybrid torque rods and replace most of the rubber suspension with poly. Also he installed koni yellow shocks front and back as well.

Decided to redo the interior and get rid of the 4L60e and add a T56. The seats and door cards are vinyl not leather. The upholster who did the seatsm, english was his second language. The color was a little surprising when I got them. I wanted to match the original color of the door cards for the new seats since the door panels were in ok shape. We ended up doing the everything the new color. The carpet I bought online. not the best fit as OEM but much better than the original.

I added sound deadening throughout the inside the car before installing the new carpet and door panels.

I replaced the old headliner. I decided to just replace instead of cleaning the old one since it would require more work cleaning than replace. The headliner came form a 93 240 from my cousin car that she wrecked and I parted out. The rear window will need to be removed in order to remove and replace the headliner.

I removed the rear bumper to repaint the bumper rubber trim. I'm glad to see no rust on the pinch welds where is very common to rust. I'll get pictures of the finished results of bumpers that are already completed.

So you still have it?

Do you still have the yellow 242? I thought for sure reason you sold it on ebay?

Original motor wore out? That is BS, ran great just gutless low compression k-junk.. I think it only had 140k original miles sat most of it's life in Corvallis, OR under a tree with it's rear away from the sun.

motor is long gone, slugfest

We made some DIY coil over using Koni sport adjustable shocks. running a 10in spring 275lb in the front. Had the suspension powder coated wrinkle black finish. We are running the delrin front control bushings. We ran the Poly bushings for awhile and they were completely wasted after a year and a half. Running stock brakes right now, maybe run R calipers in the front in the future.
