I'm useless in this regard, it's been a very long time for me, lol. I believe Tightmopedman was taking it further, since he was one of the big driving forces behind the 5cyl M4.4 development.
I've never been one to have a 'forever' car, I like building stuff too much and I don't have unlimited funds...but after 2 minutes in this car yesterday all thoughts of selling to fund another volvo project left my head. It's simply giggle-inducing. I need to address the driver's seat...
OH HELL YEAH.
It's been months since I've driven it and I've even entertained the idea of selling or trading for some sort of pre-70s volvo over the winter...but after taking it for a spin yesterday, the silly fun noises put a hold on that for a bit :). It was warm enough yesterday to drive...
Over the years I ordered a bunch of both Mamba and Kinugawa parts and have been consistently impressed. I've used their T3 conversion housings on a DSM big 16G to make it work on the Volvo manifold, and rebuilt a bunch of mitsu turbos with their kits. I would not hesitate to use their stuff again.
After charging an absolutely flat battery it fired up right away. Gotta love stock PCM setups :). I drove it up and down the driveway a bit because I had to move the truck into a spot closer to the garage so I could weld a few things. It was 19*C today...the 5th of march...all the snow is...
I've used two of the cheaper options: The Howe Racing 82876 (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/HRE-82876) and the RAM 78136 (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0049GM25W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The Howe was great but due to the amount of travel my setup has at the...
Yeah, we were watching from a buddy's shop in Gatineau. He has a livestream up on the shop TV for the duration of the World Cup event, lol. We've hung out at Napierville a lot over the years, got to see Carl's evolution while simultaneously blowing up our own slower cars and ghetto towing them...
Carl Brunet actually has the record back, he set it this year at World Cup. It was an AWESOME pass!

So, long time no (picture) update. The car has been spectacular, and the VSS from the rear diff works perfectly with the GM PCM. I drove it for as long as I could, which wasn't much past the beginning of Oct due to how cold it started getting overnight. It's tough to de-fog a windshield...
I made a lot of my vibrations go away with the super-big, discontinued 1310 dampening yoke. Single-piece 2.75" driveshaft, BNE hybrid arms, etc. No idea if any of it helped or not but it was tolerable. After the 6.0 swap I found the dampened yoke STILL helped a ton, because it sucked bad...
I still have this box waiting in the wings for a future project :). It performed flawlessly, and if I end up putting it in something with a 4.10+ rear end I'll just pop the shim out of the lockup valve and use it as volvo intended.
