  • Hi Gabe,
I?m living in Brisbane and just bought an 83 240 GLE. I see that you are living in the area as well.
Im new to Volvo's but plan on doing some of my own servicing. I was wondering who you use as your part supplier?

    Regards,
    Clayton

    Hey Gabe,
I live in Rockhampton Queensland and I was just wanting to know if you know of any 144's down south there is Brisbane that may be for sale. I have brought 2 144's in the past (both big bumper 74 models) and I absolutley love em but I can find any. If you would know of any that you could please tell me of that would be good. Thanks Gabe
Hard to say. I bumped up the compression and ported the head at the same time. Was definatly a noticable gain. 15-20hp mayby? But honestly, its so cheap, why not? For like $150 or so you could get bigger intake and exhaust valves. Bigger valves are the type of thing that are going to be beneficial to just about every mod you do. May as well do it when the heads off.
What kind of increase did you see on your NA after the Valves? If it was at the same time as other mods, what were the mods and the increase?
Sorry I don't check to see how old you are every day :-P Could I talk to you about lowering over MSN if possible? TB chat is abit slow :)

Mine is Tigercs1@hotmail.com if you want to.

Cheers and thanks for your time.

hey, did u end up going with 38mm exhasut valves on your head? where did u get them and what did they set u back?

just starting a porting adventure of my own.
Bendix pads are almost the same as the ones the US guys talk about, because Bendix Australia make all of them.
They used to be called Bendix Metal King pads, now they are the Bendix Heavy Duty range, same semi metalic pad.
Could be issues getting them because there are some changes happening with Bendix, but some places may still be able to order them.
