It’ll run rich, but it should run smooth. You don’t want to drive it like that for long, but it would get you off the interstate in a pinch.
If it clears up with the maf unplugged it points to a bad maf sensor. Usually a bad maf just bogs down pretty hard, it does ‘t buck like you’re talking...
unplug the maf and see what it does.
Also check the ignition wiring where it runs under the crank pulley. Like really get down there and check. But don't disturb the big plug in the ignition computer if you can help it.
Thanks. THis car will ultimately be sold on. I got an insane deal on it and am driving it while I work on my 240. Once the brick is done I'll move this XC70 along to the next person.
I got it for 800 bucks. Runs and shifts perfect. Needs several front end parts (like strut tops) and motor...
I need new strut tops/bearings on my 2005 XC70. The ones I’ve already ordered on rock auto say they’re for “electronic suspension”. Isn’t all the hardware the same though?
If its different I have until tomorrow morning to change it. But the only Moog part they had was this one.
Painted door handles. 740’s are black, ppl swap these 960 ones in if they are the right color.
Chassis Braces. Little hockey-stick shaped braces on the front end. 7-9’s don’t have them. Firms up the front chassis.
I bought one new car in my life. A Golf TDi. Had a clutch disc explode while on a trip with the whole family, dog, car full of kids stuff. Had it towed to the nearest VW dealer (car still well under waranty) and commenced to have a three-day long fight about whether they were going to cover it...
I’ve never owned an early car, but its my understanding that everyone changes this to the later 86+ rubber which does a much better job at sealing out wind noise.
There's a lot that you can lego together between the two cars, but as far as I know, no one has sat down and written a guide. Lankku and the Poi are the folks who did most of this work.
