indeed grumble grumble- accel is good, but it is still backfiring on decel, and also will stumble on cruise- im thinking i should definitly do the spark plugs- theyve been there since last june or july.....and then i will do the coolant temp sensor....hopefully its not some godam gremlin...

Hey Jack- hows this cold treating your mileage? Have you heard the rumor about $5/gallon by this summer? That makes me angry.

You missed nothing at the jy- it was raining the whole time; there were pretty slim pickings.
There were 3 244/5's; a 740, a few 940s- and of interest to you- a red 1995 turbo 940 that still has turbo, etc, injectors- only thing missing was the maf- its in the last 4 rows on the right side of the foreign section- close to the fence for Don's..... i think i'll wait for a warmer/ drier or at least cold/dry spell to get a tranny...hell with it

this weekend TBrick show may not happen for me- i just spent close to 400 on books......but on a better note, my beer is also ready to bottle, so I need to do that if I am to have something decent (it cant sit too long in the pail after fermentation is complete, or it will skunk)- but I will definitely have time for a jy run cheap things, like a rear wiper motor, and maybe a trans....let me know how the TBricks show goes, and you still want to hit up the jy....

I too have a chattering squirrel in my dash...that might be the next project, since I just got a long overdue alignment....but that also caused me to have too much fun, and now there seems to be a humming bird in my transmission...easy fix, but I'd like to get a getrag or something.....were you at skylark last night? i saw some dude drive up with a black or 940/ 960....

I think the waterpump noise was just a result of the car having set for so many months, especially in early winter, and especially with a low coolant:water ratio. Its doing great now, and I have the stock turbo injectors back in, so economy and performance are better; also the radiator fan switch repair worked, so fan turns on and off when it ought to....but still more tinkering to do- looking forward to putting in triple gauge cluster...regardless, ive down for a volvo work day some time- even this week im free too

so, what kind of cooling fan system do you have? I think mine came out of an 850- it has the relay, switch in the lower radiator hose, etc. I have a problem with either A- the switch stays closed all the time, causing hte fan tobe on all the time, or B- with a different switch, the fan won't come on unless you ground the two prongs with a screw driver...also, some of my switches seem to be oozing coolant out the top where to two prongs are. Maybe you have some ideas as to why any of this is happening....

Well, my Brick problems have compounded, but, the new issues may correct the old ones. Water pump is now screaming, coolant temp sensor bad, and radiator fan switch bad as well. Had some weird performance issues previous- the car sounded like an out of tune V-8. But, it needs a tune-up as well (plugs) because I beat on it all last spring and summer. AFter the tune-up, new switches (diagnosed), an air filter (been running without), and a larger MAF, I should be good. Basically no time or money to do anything. I have some high output/ high- ohm injectors from a Ford to compensate for knocks, since I dont want to blow up any pistons- but the computer thinks im running to rich because I have small stock MAF. If I grab a larger 3" diameter MAF off some rare 9-series models (S90, V90, 960...), I should be able to compensate for that rich-condition....you might want to look into that as well, seeing as how you said in a previous post that one of your pistons chunked itself....

Cool man, I've been wanting to meet some t-brickers. I hear yah on the not a lot of people not being very "knowledgeable" about their Volvo's. Haha I hear you about the front wheel drive imposters hahaha, my buddy has one . Yeah, I did take care of my 3 cylinder issue, I just went up to Gary's U pull it and snagged a new head. It cracked the gasket and melted the head where 1 meets 2. What kind of problem do you have with brick? I may be of some help.
