Just wondering if anyone knows the paint colors that Volvo brushed on the front springs of the 940's and what they mean? I guess it was their quick and easy way to identify spring stiffness. I've seen Blue, Red and Yellow on different 940's.
I just picked one up, at the local pick n pull off a '93 wagon, in great condition. And slid it into my '93 wagon with the plan to let it rest on my head and the passenger headrest while I drove home. But I ruined it by not reinforcing it with sticks or boards. It had a cut out for the...
Anyone heard of problems with the cloth strainer(filter) on the end of the inboard pump? I thought I read somewhere a guy was having similar fuel flow problems with a low fuel and a high fuel tank. Turns out the strainer was collapsing in a low tank and clogging the 'feed' to the pump.
Believe it or not but it could be the strut mounts. Volvo used different shapes and thicknesses during the 749/940 run and I noticed up to an inch of difference between some. Or, if yours is a '91 SE it had nivomats in the rear and those springs are much softer than normal springs.
I have a '93 Turbo 940 Wagon also and I had a transmission leak also. Turned out to be the front seal and this fixed it within minutes.

I've looked all over for any discussions on the upper spring seat(cushion) for 740/940/960 front suspensions, and found nothing. If you look up any part supplier for these cars(IPD, FCP, E Euro, etc) they all list the same part number. Which makes sense since it's basically the same chassis -...
