  • That's okay, I don't do a lot of messaging/texting anyway. I live on the Norfolk/VA beach line behind colonial (rick hendricks) chevrolet on Va beach blvd. I've been doing a kitchen renovation and no time to work on the 142, but I will be soon, so if you want to check it out be my guest. If you know anyone interested in a 67 triumph spitfire project, let me know. I want to get it out of my carport to make room for the 142. Good hearing from you, I'll check back later. Mike
Im right off great neck road. Sort of close To VB blvd. Im workin friday but im ready to do the swap ASAP. Yeah I would like to get ahold of a low mileage aw-71, good condition. Im going to see what I can come up with tommorow. Ill shoot you a PM tommorow.
    Max
Yeah I found his. Yeah dude, my brother races a 242 thats been sitting in the same spot for like a year and a half, bugs the hell out of me(hes deployed). But dude if you could come over with Alex and help me do the swap it would be much appreciated, im talking to a guy about getting a used aw-71, so I just need to trash the old one and get the used one in. Im going to start this weekend, I need my car back. If you talk to Alex see what he is doin.
Ohhh my bad dude I thought you were Alexs Dad. Yeah Got a full garage and everthing, never done a swap so I need all the help I can get. Im going to call Alex and see what we can arrange. I hate not driving my car!
Haha, whats up man, we met at the Mangohick meet. I have the black 745, I was wearing a striped shirt I beileve. Yeah Ive been talking to Alex alot lately, I think he is going to come over here soon and help me do my tranny swap (myn broke) your more than welcome to come help to. Haha.
Nah man I havnt, I keep seeing a black 142 on Vb blvd, and saw a black v70R wagon the other day to. There are some TBer's around Hampton Roads though.
I don't know if you ever got my response from a few weeks back but I appreciate the shout and would love to do a meet sometime. I'm struggling w/ a broken alternator bolt in the block right now, but I almost have it drilled out and hopefully this coming week when I'm vacation I'll get to spend some QT w/ both Volvos and get them ready for show and go. Keep me posted about whatever you hear.
hey hey i have my brown tops on the way oh and you should come with me to the mangohick meet it would be sweet how did the side exhaust go and i need to work on my car this weekend call me tonight 966-2120
I've had a string of Volvos since 2000. Right now I have an 89 740 16v and a project 245 turbo. There are a bunch of us here in the Hampton Roads area. Spruill242 races a 242 coupe, rwturbo in Suffolk has a nice collection of Volvos (check out his supercharged 740 in the for sale section).
I would hang on to that 142, it has classic lines & they are hard to come by anymore. Fidel on the board is pretty good with the 140 series. He has a shop, but I don't have the website handy.
I'm out here in VA Beach by Holland Rd. & Dam Neck.
Let me know if you need anything.
    Take it easy.

    slow240,
I also live in p-town VA. I'm 41 and I've had the Volvo bug since my first car, a 69 142s. I have a 92 245. My son drives a 93 945t. I recently gave my daughter a non-running 74 142. Soon I'll be selling my wife's 02 tdi jetta and getting her either a mini van or a 244 or a 945t. Oh yeah, I've got two dead Volvos in my back/junk yard, an 85 245t and an 86 744t. Sorry to drop all this Volvo baggage on you but we live so close I couldn't just ignore you.
