    5.0 headers

Thanks. Good to know. I’ve done some interwebs and you can “dimple” and bend ceramic headers without heat just fine. Now to convince the old boomer mechanic to put spun cats on it…

    5.0 headers

Also… what to do about the steering shaft? Is there a way of not bending the headers or do I have to stick with the cheapest finish (i.e. no ceramic or chrome)

    5.0 headers

Almost necro bump… reopening this conversation as I’m in need of a revamped exhaust set-up (new motor mounts shifted the geometry) To answer your question… performance cause why not. From my reading long-tubes are out unless I have them supremely modified (which I can’t do by myself and don’t...

    Sealing firewall holes

Pick and pulls don’t exist around here… I’m Sealing two circular tubes in a circular hole… and it’s tight. The vacuum tube for the cruise control takes up over 1/2 of it and the split loom is mashed in there. I guess I could find a solid grommet and drill it to size…

    Sealing firewall holes

What do you guys use for sealing wires/hoses through the fire wall? I have a vacuum tube and one wiring harness going through the hole bottom left of the brake booster. A regular grommet or boot won’t work. Is there a putty of some sort that isn’t permanent and doesn’t make a mess?

    Winter Tires for the 240

I’ve been using tiresize.com. Same thing. 185/65r15 May work too. Trying to stay around the 205/60r15 rolling diameter.

    Winter Tires for the 240

Ah ha! Found some pics of an ‘83 Anyways… I guess I’m stuck with 195/65r15s to stick with my rolling diameter requirements.

    Winter Tires for the 240

They look similar to 1 series or p1800 wheels. Haven’t been to find any pictures of a Volvo with these exact wheels. PN 1273387

    Winter Tires for the 240

Also… what car are these wheels from? Managed to piece together a full set from two different people. All in the same condition.

    Winter Tires for the 240

Has anyone done anything goofy like putting a taller tire in the front so it lifts the front as to transfer more weight to the rear?

    Winter Tires for the 240

Is a stiffer side wall optimum in winter conditions? For the prairies skinny tires with a tall side wall was the way to go. It sliced through the deep snow and the high surface pressure helped with packed snow and ice... but that's your regular run-of-the-mill "dry" powdery snow. The snow out...

    Winter Tires for the 240

Since I’m daily driving the Volstang and my “all-weather” tires were a bust last winter I decided to invest in proper winter tires. Wanting to stick with the larger wagon tire size of 185/75r14. I have purchased two sets of Volvo steel wheels. 14x5.5x20s and 15x5.5x25s (I’ve never seen what...

Has anyone swapped a SLA front suspension? Mustang 2 style or whatever?

    It’s always a good idea to get a Miata…

    4cl t5 swap questions

    I only ordered a Z code 1-4 cluster for my T-5 and I didn't go with a .80 O/D.

BNE Dyn. torque rod bushing thread #5,469

Talked to the man himself. Poly is not the answer. Proper installation is. The suspension needs to be loaded before you torque them otherwise they tear.

No O/D though. Im sticking with the .68 Was told the engine/trans is an ‘89 Mustang but it had airbag wiring so it may be a ‘90. 3.35 1.93 1.29 or 1.26
