Crap. Spot welded 🥵 I’ll have to look to see if I can find an article on how to get the spacer off, welded or not welded. I just learned that the spacer needed to come off by reading articles. You can see in the original photo I posted how high the gland but sat. Bc the spacer was still installed.
Now I need to figure out what is different with the Bilstein HD. I can tell from a visual standpoint that the Billy is way more bulky. The guy who put this suspension on my 1991 wagon did not remove the spacer at the bottom. I am swapping this over to a 1992 now. Do I need to take the spacers...
Ok, made a little progress. I found this IPD article that suggested using a pipe wrench. I am past caring about scratching the gland nut. It worked!

I am having difficulty pulling the gland but off the suspension from my 1991 240. See photo. Anyone have luck with the tool in the photo? Or is there something more suited to Volvo 240’s? A Volvo tool. This one day suspension change has turned into a two week ordeal now.
