Made my car worse with K24 +T and M47 Swap Doh, Stalling at idle and decel, bucking 2nd gear? im an idiot and cant leave well enough alone

On the topic of fakes and knock-offs, when you get your wideband wired up make sure the sensor isn't a phony. My brand new aem x-series wideband came with a no-name sensor in the box - I didn't check because I assumed a fairly reputable brand like aem would include a good sensor. The readings I...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Thanks, that really means a lot. Didn't lose my whole ass thankfully and both the car and the webers found good homes. Don't think I'll even bother looking for an east coast volvo of that vintage again though - buying one out west and driving it home would've been cheaper, less rusty and far...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Guess I should update this for the record. Due to circumstances foreseen and unforeseen the car has been sold, making this my third project volvo in as many years that I've spent a year getting running only to immediately sell once it moves. I still love these cars and this was far from my last...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

An update where I actually remembered to take pictures! They're not completely up to date, but at least it's not another wall of text. That driveshaft bearing nut was an absolute bear. Plenty of time soaking in pblaster and then a combo pipe wrench and channel lock attack still wasn't enough. I...

m41 - overdrive knocking crossmember with new mount

It absolutely is, Eric and Ian are an incredible resource to this community. Here's the link to the GoFundMe in case anyone visiting this didn't see it in off topic. Eric, I'm sorry I didn't have more to give and that I'm on the wrong coast to lend some muscle. I hope you both can find a new...

m41 - overdrive knocking crossmember with new mount

Huh, don't think I ever would've noticed that on my own. Thanks! I'll see if someone swapped them around.

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Huh, I remember being told about this with my old ford back in high school. A mopar guy I met drove his dart year round and swore that was what saved it, but that was back when they just dumped rock salt everywhere, not the brine spray stuff. I'll have to look into it although I'm tempted to put...

m41 - overdrive knocking crossmember with new mount

Found out the point of contact is two bolts on the overdrive that juuuuuust barely hit the trailing edge of the crossmember. Weird. Thank you spock and dl242gt, I'll give that mount a try. I'd rather not have to grind the crossmember

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Thanks! The amateurness of my work is much more obvious in person but at least it's not as full of holes as it was when I started. I won't lie, working on this has me seriously considering moving to a dry climate myself. Maryland winters aren't gonna be kind to this thing and I'd rather not...

m41 - overdrive knocking crossmember with new mount

According to VP that's the part number of the mount I got. I also grabbed that little bracket from the junkyard p1800 when I took the m41. I'll confirm that I put it in the right place and in the right orientation when I get home.

Bummed I'm missing the year of the amazon, safe travels to everyone heading down. Hopefully a year is enough time to get myself road trip ready for the next one

m41 - overdrive knocking crossmember with new mount

Just wrapped up putting a d-type m41 in my amazon. Haven't driven the car yet but while I was installing my shortened driveshaft I noticed the transmission can be wiggled around quite a bit by hand, and the overdrive knocks against the crossmember with only a small bounce downward. The mount is...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Mini update while I wait for my driveshaft to be shortened. After a kerfuffle of a day the car was successfully relocated to my driveway. The plan was to get the brakes working so the car could be rolled backwards out of the shop and onto the trailer in a gradual, controlled fashion rather than...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

They're practically twins! I'm happy to provide motivation, and I wish you better success in welding than I've had. Why is it the ones that look the best are where no one will ever see them? I see you're in PA too, if you're ever near Maryland shoot me a message and I'll send you home with the...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

The past two weeks have been intense. I took advantage of a lull in my work schedule and getting yelled at for not using enough leave last year to take some time off and throw everything I could at the car. While I didn't reach my own (admittedly very lofty) goal of driving it out of the garage...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

I appreciate it but I've already bought and started mocking up the 20 gallon cell. I haven't taken a photo of the current state of the trunk but to re-mount a stock tank safely I'd have to rebuild about 60% of the mounting lip. If I've gotta do that much fab work I might as well get some more...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Still going. Got the last two holes in my passenger core support patched and the passenger wing support welded on. A couple small spots left before I can move to the other side but it's starting to look like a car again. I also tossed a coin and decided to pull the headliner down. It smelled...

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Thanks! I'm very excited for the final green with tan interior combo. After more consideration the battery is definitely heading south. Brake system upgrades are a must as well, but I'm debating how to move forward with them. I'd love four wheel discs and an acquaintance of mine is parting a...

Project Bluey, Propav8r’s ‘63 Amazon Wagon

Awesome find! If your m40 deal falls through I have the one from my amazon that I'd let go cheap. I'm down near Durham pretty frequently and could toss it in the trunk for you.

(probably not) cheaper than therapy: getting a 1967 122s back on the road

Why do I set myself up like this? I'm calling this substantial because it's the best I've felt about this car in weeks. Frame rail and the bit that connects it to the rocker are welded in. First photo shows the rail tacked in place, little pieces were made to replace the connection to the boxed...
