My wife's '86 244 DL will on occasionally stumble at idle or at slow engine speeds. When it does this the tach will noticeably drop to as low as 500 rpm and jump right back up. The problem is intermittent and not easy to predict but more likely to occur after being driven for a while.

If using an MSD 6a ign box in with (any) EZK ignition can the power stage be deleted? It shouldn't matter whether the MSD box gets the coil trigger signal from the EZK ECU directly or through the power stage right?
