Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
The next step with my ?89 245 +T automatic is to install the T5 which I bought from turbotankshane a couple years ago now (time flies). The first and easiest step is to install the pedal assembly. Which will also coincide with me installing a new brake booster.

....like a sunburn.
'89 245 that the PO had replaced the brake booster, master cylinder and reservoir. Initial pedal engagement is sudden brakes..... then kinda mushy after. Not linear at all.
Brake booster, master cylinder and reservoir are all super clean which is how I know they've...
'89 245 +t stock engine otherwise. Temp gauge mod performed.
Recently swapped cylinder heads due to a crack along where the valve cover gasket sits, allowing oil to drizzle out onto the exhaust manifold. Pulled salvage head from '87 or '88 244 and have installed it properly. Also installed a...
Replacing the valve cover gasket as I had a leak dripping down to the exhaust manifold causing that sickening oil burn smell. So got the OE Volvo gasket and as I’m cleaning the head for the new gasket and see this.....
This is where my leak is coming from. I put a dab of silicone on the...
'89 245 drivers side door has been sticky to unlock. Pulled the door panel thinking maybe it was the mechanicals but see that it's the lock cylinder. Take it out and as I turn it upside down it unlocks and locks fine.
Is there any reason I can't just swap the passenger door lock cylinder for...
'89 245 +T, all stock turbo parts from a 7 series turbo. 90+ exhaust that has been opened up for the T3 exhaust housing....lip machined off....mounting studs drilled and tapped for 10m studs.....new studs and copper exhaust nuts.
First I tried no gasket and it leaked a small bit between the...
'89 245 now a week with a +T install. I'm assuming that the added crankcase pressure that the turbo induces is enough to show every weak seal? Thought it was just the missing o ring at the oil separator box. I had noticed oil there and discovered whoever put it in last didn't use an o ring...
Drove the 2 hours to my folks house yesterday where I do my wrenching. Grabbed all the bits and baubles that I've ordered over the last couple weeks and it seems I have everything I need to do the final turbo install, except for one.....the PCV valve port. Decided not to use the stock turbo...
So I've added a dual remote bypass filter basically identical in design as the transdapt set up. This has the dual pipe thread plugs at the end of the mount and a spring and ball type valve in the return flow. My understanding is that the spring and ball is to restrict the flow so as to direct...
This will be held in Tulsa, OK and I've seen zero mentioned about it here. Is the VCOA uppity? :)

In my continued efforts to get rid of the extraneous wiring from the engine bay I'm wanting to delete the power stage and the associated wiring on top of the fender well. Currently using the power stage and a relay to give me my tach signal.
This thread answers some of those questions...

So with the long weekend I decided to swap in the "A" cam I bought from Simi 4 months ago. Installed new adjustable cam gear from STS, hushers, timing belt, belt tensioner and front cam seal. Moved the oil filter relocation kit just below the lower radiator hose....but it doesn't...
I've started passively looking for a T5 to swap into my '89 245. They don't show up in my market very often and I've found one about 40 minutes from me. It's an '01 V6 Mustang with 200k miles. Is $300 a reasonable price? The trans will already be pulled from the car.
Haven't contacted the...
Can someone post up a legible image or a link to show the numbers of each pin and what they control? Thought I had used correct "blanks" on my EZK for the wasted spark outputs but now I'm second guessing myself.
Thank you.
All turbo parts were procured from an '87 760 turbo sedan (Garrett T3) and are going on an '89 245. I've been reading the +T guide....

...and it has been very helpful but I have a couple of specific questions.
1. I've pulled...
This is the M46 that I found in the back floor board of an '87 760 turbo. Assume that the PO was going to swap it in place of his autotragic.
I did look at the tail housing and noticed that only one bolt was holding it on. Took it off and some pieces were loose back there. I can rotate...
Many of the savage yards in my hometown are near the Arkansas River which can get out of its banks, it seems, at least once a year. So traipsing through one of these yards yesterday I came across a '93 940T. It had been relieved of all the turbo bits save for the exhaust manifold and ECU. The...
Last weekend I broke the kickdown cable where it goes into the trans. I've ordered a new replacement but am curious what the chances are that I could pull one from a used trans and not break that one?
I've unexpectedly got the next couple of days off and have access to a used trans and a...
