Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
I'm stuck. I have most if the dash apart but I cannot get the center vents and upper storage unit (where radios can be installed) and it's giving me the ****s. They seem to be stuck on the left side. Any ideas? Also, do you need the frame of the center lower console out?

Well, this is the project thread on my car, a 1989 240 beige sedan with many little bits and pieces (like all our cars) done on body, interior, suspension and engine work. Specifications up first, movies are second and the timeline at the bottom.

I'm currently in the process of getting a new engine management system put on the car now that it's getting supercharged. The mechanic I'm using at the moment uses the EMS brand of ECUs. http://www.enginemanagementsystem.com/ Has anybody had any experience with this brand?
The reason for my...
Hey all, here are the results for the October 2007 dyno day with the Volvo Club of Victoria (www.volvovic.org.au). Props go to Cam for organising the event and photos will follow in this thread!

Some of the Bruce's and myself went to Winton raceway (a 2-3 hour drive north of Melbourne) for a "fun day". For $25 you get to go out onto the track in your road car (with all loose bits taken out), an approved helmet and on alternating goes, a passenger.
Here are some pics from the trip to...
Ahhh, what a time for this question to come up!
Christmas is almost here, just a month away and I've just learned that it would be unwise to go to the club's track day on the 17th (Dec) on my current - almost dead - falken azensis road legal semi-slicks.
So, after two car services and...
I've procured some 5mm spacers to try and get that rear track out a bit on my 240 sedan. Is there anything I need to do when installing them? Do I put any goop on them to stick or do I just take the wheel off, put the spacers in and put the wheel back on?
Cheers
Ben
Hey all,
Another stupid question from me, how does one go about storing a head (531 :badboy:) for around 4 to 6 months? Do I coat it in something (like oil or WD40) then wrap it up in plastic or chuck it on the floor and leave it?
Thanks
Ben.
Hi All,
Just wonder what you guys thought about my plan to have my galaxy wheels powdercoated in a deep metallic gray that has a very slight hint of purple - pretty much gunmetal gray really.
In the last few days I got my H cam fitted into the 240. The bastard now has a great lumpy idle and is loud in a great old school kinda way. It revs more freely, has a lot more power than the M cam and can now actually spin the tyres in the dry :badboy: I'm hopefully getting a video camera later...
Hi,
I've created a new thread here for the movies, just to keep the dream alive ;-)

Calder Track Video 2 Ash drags a V8 and loses. Previous corner speed means a third of the straight in front though...

Hi,
Me being the idiot I am, decided to replace the beige center dash on my 1989 240 GL (Australia) with a black one. I pulled of the side trim, took the radio apart and started unplugging the wires from the back without noting what connected to what.
I have 3 problems now.
1. I can't get the...
We just had a club event today with some great twisting roads, now that I've got the 240 in good shape suspension wise (stiffer & lower springs / new shockers / new bushes / strut brace / lower chassis braces / 16" wheels & tyres) I'm starting to tackle the twisties. Here's a vid from one of the...
To make this stand out as we Aussies turn any thread into an OT, here is the official event notice. We will have as a minimum 3 cars and hopefully 4 to 5 so if you want to come along please give Cam, Ash or myself (Ben) a ring! My number is 0417 391 322. We're hoping to make this a regular event...
Ash (ashvolvo), Cam (cam740) and myself (The Guv) had a small meet before next weeks meet-up with some more Victorians. After spending most of the 35 degree day lying back in the shade we took the beasts out to a local park, scared the kiddies and took some photos. Even pissed off some rangers...
Well, it has taken quite a few months but finally my 240 is in a modified, drivable state! "Barry the Beige Brick" is a 1989 240 GL with under DVS chassis braces, firewall to tower braces, DVS tower to tower brace, DVS sump guard/bash plate, stiffer/lower springs, monroe GT shocks, firestone...
Hi All,
I've just got my 16" galaxy wheels back from bridgestone and I was shocked to see these little pieces of metal stuck to the rim. Not only was I not even told about this but the bloody things are in clear view and seem to be stuck on with just a average sticky substance that would fail...
Has anybody tried the Firestone*SZ50 tyres? I'm planning to put them on 16" rims on the 240. They're also $170AUD a corner which is better than $220AUD for something like bridgestone Potenza's which are a tad expensive for me at the moment due to suspension etc...
Cheers.
