Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
I have one of those sensors that I believe I can find. I'll get back to ya.
Are you just filling the hole in the head? You did not add CIS to your car...? I will just add that if you did that, the biggest part of that conversion is having a place to screw in that sensor. Since you have that...
Who cares about efficiency in a water pump? You have guys here complaining that the pump over-pressurized their cooling system and blew out the freeze plugs...
I echo all the big compliments; your composite work is quite impressive. I am speculating that the flow medium became a large monolithic mass once the resin cured, making it impossible to really *peel* the peel ply.
Questions: I see only one point of infusion in the photo, right? The resin...
There is a large red wire at the relay connector. That is the power to the relay. There is a large yellow&red wire at the opposite corner of the connector; this is the power out to the pump. If you pull the connector off of the relay and jump between these two wires, the pump should get power...
^ Agree, there are good photos in the 940 truck thread.
Are your rockers perforated or is it surface rust? Maybe put up some pics.
Regarding the drains, I don't know how the 940 system works, somebody else will no doubt comment. I am familiar with the 240 rockers, though, and I would not...
But... But... that is what I appreciate so much about Mueller's build thread. It never seems to move closer to driving. It is hard to even see that as the goal. At every step he posts, he goes deeper. The answer to the question in the title is ABSOLUTELY, it is a must.
If, as you say, it starts up immediately, then the cold start injector may be one of the best parts in the system. I would put attention elsewhere, as some have suggested above.
Agreed, the brass unit is much harder to clean if packed with crud. I have one like that; it has resisted all soaking and poking so far. When I find someone with an ultrasonic cleaner I hope to try that.
I don't have specifics, but it has always been said that old/bad gas is the devil for Kjet. And how about all those cars that "ran when parked" but don't run now? I imagine that deep in the works of the fuel dist there are disgusting things happening. The injectors love to get dirty and spray...
Do you know how old that gas is? If you already started it then any damage is already pretty much done. I always drain it and put it in a carbed vehicle. Still would recommend that.
I am having a hard time believing the years given for the fitment of those clips. It seems to me that they should work on any car with the stainless trim- from '75 up to when the trim changed- maybe '91? (not sure). This is not based on any solid documented knowledge.
I don't see the roller in the vid. I suspect that it is missing. That can happen after years of neglect. What I can see is a hole in the top surface of the bracket/housing, and another hole that is sometimes visible in the bottom surface. If I am not mistaken, those holes are where the axle for...
I'll bet the door moved a bit better after that grease douche. Something you should know is that the strap that retains the door rides on a little rolling drum inside the door. Those drums commonly seize up and then slide on the strap instead of rolling. There should be no need of grease on the...
Here are some links to threads covering the repair of the harness for the lock. The switch that wraps around the lock cylinder will unlatch using the tab that appears on one of your photos, with grooves across it. Pay close attention to how that fits onto the cylinder; it comes off much easier...
