So, I'm bleeding the brakes and have little to no fluid coming from the left side top chamber on the caliper. Also no noticeable pressure difference with the nipple open or closed. I'm guessing the top piston is buggered, right?
something just gave out!! Pic added!!
As I pulled sharply out of the driveway this morning something definitely gave out! I heard a loud BANG on the driver's side and the steering pulled immediately to the right! I'm guessing inner tie rods, or outer or ball-joint. It's -16C and I'm gonna...
What can you guys tell me about these struts? I've searched everywhere, but find little info. I know they were for the 240 Turbos and have been discontinued. I'm considering them for my 87 244 N/A
Cheers,
Matt
A guy at work backed into my rear door the other day. I don't think it's worth taking to a bodyshop, but I want him to give me something for it. What's a door from a wrecker worth? The door it severely dented, scratched down to bare metal and the chrome and plastic is all broken. I was...
I've got a very noticeable shudder in the steering wheel. Seems to start at around 100-110 Kms/hr. Ball joints, tie rods and tie rod ends were new approx. 2 years ago. Any ideas?
cheers
A guy I work with is selling his 1990 745 16 valve, 250K kms, new alt., rack, recent timing belt, snows, no rust...needs fuel pump and struts
I don't know too much about the model. The car looks good.
Any input would be great as I would need to let my '83 245 go, which still needs rear...
A friend of my nephew is looking at buying an 85 244. He sent me an email asking me about replacing the harness. I have yet to have the pleasure. Can anyone shine a light on the subject for me to pass the info on. I have just looked at Dave Barton's site.
I really don't think the kid...
I have been putting this off for way too long...
I'm finally gonna get to changing the rear Control Arm Bushings this long weekend, I hope, but the ploy bushings I have didn't come with the outer sleeves like the ones from IPD do. Do I just re-use the ones on the car?
Thanks
I have a 96 850 Turbo Wagon that I have been trying to sell. I have only had 3 people come to see the car over a number of months. I live in kind of an out of the way spot, but people must think it's in the boonies something. Anyway, if I were to part this thing out what parts are of any...

I'm looking at an '83 245 Sunday. For Sale by the son of the 81 year old owner. He says it needs rear springs for safety. 149k kms, regular service. So, yes I plan on buying it, but wanna know what's involved in the rear coil job...
I was under the car today trying track down the cause of some annoying slop in the shifter. I found I could adjust the length of the mechanism, but before doing so noticed the linkage between the shifter and the control rod is super sloppy.
Are these the bushings that go in there...

I did them last winter on the 240 along with the tie rod ends and ball joints. I've been driving the 850 mostly til recently and getting back in the 240 it feels sloppy like it did when the inner tie rods went. The tie rod ends I ended up doing twice in a short time because I was cheap and...
I think the motor is done. The wiper were getting stuck the other day and today I have a few hours off and decided to have a look. The thing move, albeit slowly, but makes a terrible noise. I took it apart and lubricated all the joints, but it still make the same racket. I guess I need a new...
So I've been emailing this guy who's is selling his 93 245 Classic. It has 234k kms on it, 5 speed, "has one spot of rust on the front fender". Recently the following has been done:

So I'm being a nice guy and making dinner when I get a call saying the car is filling with smoke!! Luckily, it was just at the end of my road and everyone was safe. The fire dept. came out, as well as some helpful neighbours. By the time I got down there the smoke had cleared and all was left...
