    1990 740 turbo rod bearing replacement

    So, how difficult is it to replace the rod bearings in a 1990 740 turbo with the engine still in the car? I think I spun rod #2 tonight... Sound disappears when I disconnect #2 injector or pull #2's plug wire. Thanks

    If you had the cash, and wanted a beefy red block to replace a worn out on in a 1990 740T, would you build it yourself, or buy it from a performance shop, and if you'd buy it, where from?

    1990 740 distributor delete

    Just curious. Once I get my waste spark DIS ignition installed and running, I know the distributor is no longer used. Can I install a freeze plug in the back of the head to seal up the hole for the distributor, or am I stuck with the distributor as a plug?

    Injector driver dead...

    Well, Got a set of browntop ford injectors. Verified they are low impedance, and that the ballast resistors on the car are good and hooked up. installed the browntops and the car started for about 2 seconds and died... injector driver is blown... WTF???

    Power Sunroof... 1990 740 turbo

    Ok, Power sunroof... Switch barely moves it at all. took off the cover, pushed in the clutch pin and can barely turn it 1/4 turn... sounds like sand in the slides or something. Any hints on how to get into it to clean and lube things?

    1990 740 turbo Lambda sensorr

    Pretty sure this is the original sensor from 1990... I know the original owner replaced the head a while back because it cracked... This sensor has remnants of coolant contamination and only 1 of the slots was open... The other black slot you can see where I poked a small screwdriver in after it...

    compression readings

    ok, 90 740 turbo, 253K miles, runs rough on startup, but clears up in a minute or so. lots of piston slap when cold, also lessens as it warms up. decided to do a compression check. checked each cylinder 3 times, had just driven about 10 miles 15 minutes before I checked to make sure the engine...

    Diverter Valve leak

    Is there a gasket available to go between the DV and the compressor housing? While I was under the hood, and had cleaned the engine, I gave the engine a few quick revs and noticed bubbles coming out between the DV and compressor housing. Checked all the bolts and they are tight. Thanks
