Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
Yes, you'd still have to do something about the rear, but it would at least let you run the stock sensors/etc in the front.
Yes, it lets you use VR (passive, like the 240 uses) sensors with the MK60 and MK60E5. I built it because my other car is an MR2 Spyder which has perfectly functional VR...
Not to mention that there's only a single rear sensor on a 240 from the factory, and the MK60 expects one per wheel.
On a related topic (but not really useful for the 240), I'm close to releasing a "companion" module for the MK60/MK60E1/MK60E5 that converts VR wheel speed sensors (like the...
I also used the $15 nissan sensors front+rear, and "works in a 240 spindle" is a relative term. I made brackets out of angle aluminum, BUT I think they only fit because I'm using S60R rotors instead of stock 240 parts.
We have a Gripper clutch diff. Tbh, I'm not sure what I'm trying to fix, as at least in the dry the car drives great with 550 front /250 rear springs and the regular garden variety single adjustable Konis. It's a little boingy, but it also drives okay enough that whatever.
OK so let's answer a related question while we're here.....suppose you had 550-600lb/in springs on the front end, what dampers would you run then?
Part 2, I'd like to lower the car a bit more than the stock strut length allows.
All turbo cars, and all later cars (1990 and later?) got the big pump (1346144). My 1991 and 1993 240s both had the big pump from the factory. I'm not sure why they even list both, I've never seen the small pump for sale in the US (everybody retrofits the big pump).
Also, the Melling M181 is...
Since somebody was interested, here's the cut file for the rear tone rings.
Cut out of 3/16" aka 0.188" aka 4.75mm mild steel.
The center hole is a few thou undersize to allow for tolerance when laser cutting, you can probably press it on as-is, or open it up a little with a sanding roll.
As far as I know the mk60 doesn't do eLSD, it just has an option to tell it there's a mechanical LSD present so it changes the stability control/ABS algorithm with that in mind.
I haven't tried to get stability control working on our car, I think if we added a steering angle sensor and sent the...
KLRacing steel rods (like this: https://shop.klracing.se/sv/artiklar/volvo-158-23-52-mm-b230-b234-2.html) are pretty cheap, including shipping.
Anybody here had a real experience with them that was good/bad/otherwise? I've heard rumors of issues, but no specifics.
I'd like to go crank steered...
Because I hate myself, I'm considering converting to electrohydraulic power steering (I hate belts!). The v50/s60/c70 used an electric hydraulic pump with integral reservoir, except that those cars use CHF11S hydraulic fluid instead of type F ATF like my 240.
Is one fluid compatible with the...
Background On the Car
1991 240, M47. I believe the engine was replaced at some point in the past, because the engine doesn't match the car. It has an LH 2.2 distributor (not plugged in), even though the car is an LH 3.1 car, and the freeze plugs are the early-B230 style (small rods). So the...
1993 240, B230F, converted to wasted spark.
I have a distributor in the hole in the block doing nothing. I do not want a distributor in the block doing nothing. What do I stuff in the hole when I remove the distributor?
Is the hole the same size as the hole for the head-mount type? If so...
Hello all!
I have a 1993 245 with a B230, presently an automatic (AW70). I'm in the process of swapping to a T5 from a '94 Mustang (I'm aware that the input shaft is longer, I machined my own adapter to compensate). I have a B230F, IPD Turbo cam, turbo setup from a 1990 740 (Mitsubishi 13c)...
1993 240 Classic. AW70 automatic.
I just swapped on a turbo from my other car. Mitsu 13c, Megasquirt, oilpan off for return, etc, etc. Did the head gasket at the same time. It has about 50 miles on it without event, until this morning when pulling out of the driveway it starts making this...
Does a B230 without accessories (just oil pan, block, head, valvecover) fit in the trunk of a 240 sedan?
Eyeballing it says it should, but I'd like to make sure before I realize I can't fit an engine in the trunk.
