One thing I have found with a failed fuel pressure sensor is that the fuel pressure can get pretty high (say 60ish psi) at idle (since I can really only check at idle in the shop. I have found some that the sensor will "read" 40psi, but physically the pump is putting out 60. The ECM is just...

So...afterall...it looks as if the problem was bad gas...lol. His brother "never had bad gas before" so he didnt know the effects of it.
It was a quarter of a tank. They topped it off and thats when he "could smell it...smelled like vinegar"

Yes, his brother is extremely talented. I recall a story once that he put together an entire car that "came out of a box" in 2 weeks. He was down on himself that it took him 2 weeks. I told him that was nothing to get upset about...most people wouldnt be able to do it at all.
