what would be the effects upon engine temperatures of the b230ft, when applied to alterd performance output?
utilizing bosch lh 2.2, 2.4--
when using altered mapping to both fuel and ignition; what factors add to altered engine operating temperatures, more specifically: higher operating...
the Volvo-branded bougicord (class F) ignition coil-to-distribitor wire has ceramic around the terminal, as opposed to the distributor to sparkplug wires. why?
any one here know a definitive fix for a no engine turn-over condition due to the starter too hot? when the ambient temperatures are high and i shut off the engine for a short while and turn the key...nothing. new ignition switch, must the starter heatsoaked, it is a rebuilt unit from ipd...less...
is there a superior exhaust manifold gasket that do no burst or tear for higher-output engines? i can think of using copper...but perhaps someone might have another material or solution.
lh2.4, ez116k (740t-b230ft)
i was doing some work and component swapping for observational purposes and all that. i put on the msd high-vibration canister coil and hooked up the original 15(+blue) and 1(-red-white) to the coil and the engine does not fire. no spark. the bosch coil is put on and...
auto-transmission was slipping so swapped in another transmission and torque converter. still slips. slips in first and second. what could it be? another bad torque converter?
what, besides return line blockage, would cause the fuel pressure to be too high?
lh2.4 system; two pumps.
65psi at idle (10in vacuum), 60 psi at 20in vacuum, 70 psi at neutral pressure, 75 at 5psi boost and goes up to 90 psi at 10psi and past. i swapped a second FPR with no appreciable...
for lh2.4/ez116k systems for a b230ft. what conditions or failures cause spark blowout where there was none before? for example: could a bad ground at the radio-supression relay limit current output from the power stage? or something along those lines?
i am at 0.024" gap and experience blowout...
application: b230ft, 15g, e85 with 470cc injectors. hituning e85 chips.
i just installed a MSD 6a. i am getting farting/backfire past 15 psi. i have yet to install the MSD coil and magnecore 8.5mm wire set, so i am using the factory wires. i have the plugs set to 0.035"; old plugs (BPR7ES), new...
what is difference in wear and service life of the distributor cap and rotor with an amplified ignition system? for example MSD 6a and corresponding coil.
for those that side gap:
I grind off the ground strap end to the midpoint of the electrode (bp7es...etc.).
what is the best gap for this approach? tighter or closer?
note: i am utilizing factory ignition system.
what are the specifiactions for this particular coil? i am using this for 1990+ lh2.4/ez116k. (i believe it is ez116k and not ez117k...for the turbo igntion system with the flywheel sensor.)
to those who have or have had kevlar clutch discs, what was the break-in period you dealt with before it stopped slipping?
i have a sprung 6-puck kevlar disc. it is stated to allow for ~1000 miles break-in before the disc will hold.
Does the B230FT engine suffer from excessive crankcase pressures to where the factory ventilation and condensor box and subsequent hose to the turbocharger intake conduit are not capable of efficiently handle the flow? or at what point does this occur?
this question does not include excessive...
