Hello all, well i just installed my Single mass flywheel from Viva and new sachs clutch. I made my own compression tool, centering tool, and for the self adjusting mechanism i gentle used a screwdriver to move the tabs once the pressure plate was compressed then i zip tied them to hold the position.
The VIDA instructions say when installing the compressed pressure plate to flywheel make sure the pressure plate is in contact around its circumference.
I had the PP compressed and i didn't have complete contact to the flywheel, it was only contacting the friction disc. But had plenty of room to get 3 bolts started. Then i walked the PP down about 1/8" to have contact with flywheel. removed compression tool then installed the remaining bolts.
once the PP was in contact with flywheel i noticed that the face of the hold on the PP for the down pins was not in contact, is this ok? picture below.
Im confused on how the clutch would disengage since i had the PP compressed all the way to the stop fingers and it still didn't quite sit flush on the flywheel..
I just want to make sure this process i did is correct and will work. Ive installed clutches before but never a self adjusting clutch. I don't want to get it all together to have it slip.
here are some pictures of the install.
