1981 244 GL High MPG - daughter's first car

The lid on your air filter box isn't installed correctly. It should be all the way inside the base. Make sure the hooks at the bottom of the lid are in properly by tipping the top towards the rear of the car and pushing down, then tip it forward and secure the clips. I see this a lot on 240's. It's usually caused by the filter not being installed in the lid properly. The rubber lip on the filter has to be in the groove in the lid.
Oh yeah I just clipped it on as I was putting things away. Still need to put an air filter in there too
No powdercoated wiring harness?
Ca won’t allow me to

powdercoat the airbox brackets before you reinstall
maybe I will :cameron:
Powdercoat the electrical pins to keep them from rusting. 😝

Happy I could help, thanks for the mention. Can't wait to see how this car and your Rover turn out.
FINE dont mention the OTHER cars - dont mention them!

today
installed the vacuum line from igition box to intake - used silicone hose

repaired the SpEcIaL bosch round connector distributor I got from K-Jets - The hall sensor was hitting the rotor and the wiring coming out of the housing was missing the rubber grommet. Ignore the new broken cap, someone dropped it

She's JUST a blonde blue Swedish HUSSY that will NEVER BE SATISFIED with just a little powdercoating. Sniff... SNiff...

I'm surprised you left the valve cover bare!
I will just haven’t decided on what color/finish, can’t close the hood until I get the transmission behind the engine and remove the support bar

I need to pull the trans from a 242
True, and the belt cover isn't even powdercoated either. Nor the fan shroud.

No e-fan for her?

I’m keeping the L cam too

since I like to do things the hard way
I got this 242T couple years back (2?) drove it home. I was talking to someone on here about them buying the shell but phone broke/lost texts then just didnt get back to it ... so whoever you are/were, Im sorry I cant remember what happened

car got hit by an ambulance and other then front core support/hood/driver fender/bumper only thing that's bent is the inner fender forward of the battery. Clean no rust, once I strip it I'll be selling the shell. I have a clean title for it too. I have replacement parts also. I dont need another 242t

short story long, I need pull the engine for another 242t and use this m46 as a donor for daughter's car (I have other on the shelf but I need some motivation)

how we drove it home
