I'm trying to fix my car, lol, small repair turning into a major refresh of the whole steering and suspension systems. In disassembly I discovered that there is an additional metal ring between the big brake dust shield and the bearing, shown in the diagram as #20 (no #19 on my car in either side). Problem is locating new parts for ABS models like mine, every site lists the part for Non ABS models that I can find.

Looking at the pics of the new parts vs my old part it looks like there is a bulge on the non abs parts in the pics but not on my old part, yet the parts diagram appears to show the bulge. Not sure if the non abs part fits, can be modified( this is my bet) to fit or is totally different.

Can anyone elaborate on the different parts, numbers, sources of parts or information that's relevant to my topic?

Thank you very much for any help, much appreciated,

NJGB

I think the difference is the clearance for the ABS sensor ring. If the old ones are just rusty clean up a bit with some naval jelly or rust converter. Even better bead blast and paint them if you can.

Not sure if the abs/non-abs will interchange, but I should have a set of abs backing plates still with all associated parts. Not new, but not rusty at least.

Mine are not salvageable, they are perished. Rotten by the old metal cancer. Holes in them and falling apart. If you look at the pics the abs sensor doesn't touch the ring at all, the backing plate itself needs a hole for the abs sensor but the ring does not interfere with the normal perimeter of the smaller ring.

Thank guys for the leads!
