Thats right.

Swapped in a 19t compressor today into my conical 15g exhaust housing.

Compared to the full 15g run the same day, the additional power is astonishing... i mean astonishing.

IMO this is THE turbo anyone with a stockish long block should be running.

Quick spool+devastating top end.

I broke something in my drivetrain tonight during the test ride...on street tires. that says something considering i beat the bag out of the car at the strip all last year without really breaking anything. My hope is center support bearing death.

To everyone:

I baught it for $700, but its essentially new. used can be had for around $400.

considering that it bolts up to stock oil/water lines, intake ducting, and has a CBV, i think it counteracts some of the real costs of going holset.

and as far as i am concerned a holset is a terrible choice (for dragracing). you can't spool the things properly off the line so any additional amount of horsepower they can make doesn't really matter.

The 19t center section and compressor bolts to a 15g hotside.

IDK what you mean by 'spools by 2000' the turbo spools fine and will give me traction-limited launches at the strip. I'm certainly not getting 20 psi at 2000 rpm, but I wouldn't want that anyways. on the street from idle full boost doesn't hit until about 4000 rpm in first... but again thats 20 psi of 19t. The power (not pressure) hits just like a 15g except it keeps building and building.

All TD04HL for volvo (13g, 13t, 15g, 16t, 18t, 19t, etc) uses the same turbine wheel and center section, and you can interchange the turbine housings.

All turbo listed above can use conical, flat, or angle turbine housing.

Spooling is never the problem, traction is. Ask thelostartof.

Nice! I have always been curious to see how these would respond on the redblocks..isnt the stock 19t hotside enlarged compared to the 15g? any idea what broke?

anyone got a compressor map for this turbo?

Uh ... spooling the turbo is NOT an issue at the line, from a dead stop yea it can be a wee bit slow) With my 3k stall, loading it up and launching off the stall provides Tons and tons of wheel spin, ask anyone that has been in my car. with a 2500+rpm stall you should be fine with a Hy35CW turbo.

Plus the fact that I picked up 6mph from the Holset upgrade says a lot about it and this was @ the same 18psi as I was running with the TD04HL-Super60(comparable to your 19t)

Slicks are for sure coming up for me as I am getting closer and closer to having $ to spend on go fast goodies.

I will agree that the 19t is a killer turbo and perfect fit for a street driven or even auto-X car as it makes tons of usable power. But for top end I doubt it compares to something like some of the larger holsets.

Good to hear someone finally got a 19t on a redblock.

What was your best trap speeds with the 15g?

so wait your car is back on the road? PM me now please

Not correcting, just clarifying. But the 13C which is stock on a lot of 700/900 turbo's isn't an HL, and won't mix and match with the rest of them.

What about the 13c? I know it's a TD04H but is it the same because I've heard of someone using a 13c hotside on a 15g center section/compressor if I remember correctly?

quick question: I had 2 hl-15g's....The wheel was siezed in the conical one so I took a cold side off a flat flanged iirc and the wheel was WAY TOO BIG. I had to get the 7cm conical exhaust housing ported about 1.5cm iirc. It's been a couple years since I did it. What mitsu models are around 8.5cm? 19t, 20t? I don't remember if the larger one had a marking on it, but it was sold to me as a 15g and it definately came off a volvo.

btw 1 of them came with a adjustable wastegate and the other didnt'. It was set for about 4.5psi when I put it on. I recently cranked it 3 turns tighter and its at about 6.25/6.5, seems like it flows a little more than my 854t5. Atleast it seems a little snappier on takeoff...

the one with a smaller wheel was NOT a 15g, for sure as all TD04HL turbos have the same time turbine housing

19T peaks very early - I had 20psi well under 3K - definitely looses up top...
