RSI will be hosting an inaugural event on June 27th and 28th. The 27th will be a Volvo track day at PIR(Portland International Raceway) and Sunday will be a show n' shine event.

The track day is the 27th and will run $200usd.

The car show is $10 to get your car entered, we will have some GREAT prizes from gift cards at RSI, to some parts, as well as slew of other booty.

The details are still firming up on the location of the show event, we have some ideas but we need to nail them down.

Please give us a call at 503.408.6573 or e-mail info@r-sport.org for more info and how to sign up!

The RSI crew!

Car show is Sunday June 28th at RSI

4334 NE 85th Ave
Portland, OR 97220

Starts at 9:00am and goes till 1.

See everyone there.

Oh! I wonder if I can get my wagon ready to cruise the track. Or at least show it at the show and shine since you know, it has a couple RSI parts... ;-)

Jonathan/Pat... count me in for the show. Barring any huge problems (I don't foresee any), the R should be done.

Are you guys doing the show at the track, or at the shop?

my car should be show off-able by then, can't wait!

no racing for me though, the extra wear is expensive

Sweet!

Got any rules & regulations-type info about the track day? I'm assuming modern non-dot helmet, no visible leaks, tight suspension, is there anything unusual to know?

If I can figure out a solid contingency plan in case I biff it bad, I'll be all over this here track day!

danny, yeah i want to, but we arnt paying vendors over on VS yet and so i havent posted...

We are trying to get waterfront park for the show portion.

adrian, good to see you again this weekend. Helmet needed...no regs. Preferably few leaks, running fairly well. Instruction will be provided as well.

We are about to post up A BUNCH of details, so I will let those interested know about said events.

:omg:
Let me clarify...

There will be rules and regulations to follow while on the track, but there is no limit to modifications done or needed for your car. So you will be able to run anything from your showroom stock mint low miler to your full race prepped trailer queen and everything inbetween.

And leaks are NOT acceptable. If you have a leak, fix it.
Most cars will weep a little or be slightly wet. That is okay. It does not have to be pristine in any way shape or form, but it must be mechanically sound and safe.

We will post up more specific details as soon as we can.

I'll try and make it, if anyone is willing to trade a ride from seattle for gas money that would be great. I don't think my gutless wonder is going to be too awe inspiring on the track.

Several people will be running n/a 240's so it's not all about power. I've seen people run bone stock 544's and have a blast.

Excellent - I think my RMS weeps a little bit and so there's almost always a little drop forming on the oil pan nut. I usually wipe down everything south of the head gasket before an autox, but I just wanted to make sure, since I've never done any real track days.

Actually, if I can get the ECU tuned and the motor broken in by then, I'll also be down for the track day.

Is it $210 for the track day AND the show, or does $200 cover it all?

Jonathan... seriously, Waterfront park? Don't tease me with that.

Optionally we are also considering under the trees on the grass at PIR with camping Saturday night. Still checking into that though.
