240 spare tire securing strap

The strap that held the spare tire in the back of my 240 wagon has cracked and torn from age. Can anyone recommend a replacement, it seems to just be a flat rubber strapping that I could fit into the same buckles. Anyone have a material to recommend?

I normally just wedge it with the jack and call it a day

What year? The early strap (-'87) is available from VP.

hiperfauto, thanks. Is the first part you linked definitely only for pre '88 240s? It looks like the one I have. What is the difference between that and the 2nd link? No image on the tascaparts linked part.

I don't know what the difference is, just that it calls for a different part number. I looked and couldn't find a pic anywhere either.

Looks like the belt you referred to is used for the tool bag / pouch on various models (2/7/8/9)- it has the same part number on all of them, no 4.

And #14 which is what I saw in the late 240 catalog and mistook for the spare tire strap.
