240 '81 244 - normal for AC to not have a pressure switch?

Trying to work out if the AC on this 244 has been tinkered with one too many times. The dryer doesn't have a pressure switch on it, and neither does the new one I got from FCP. I haven't seen a switch anywhere else in the system.

Sounds like it was replaced previously. All the systems I've come across have had the switch next to the sight glass. Is the harness that normally goes to the switch present? Or has it been deleted?

The switch senses low pressure/ low freon. It interrupts the circuit to the compressor. Freon carries the oil thruout the system for lubrication. No or low freon = seized compressor. Did you know the expansion valve is adjustable for better cooling? Look inside and see the Allen shaped fesses. Turn it in until it bottoms out, back it out 3 turns.
