A Time For Change - Suggestions?

Well, as I sit here recovering from a serious case of the flu....I've noticed that spring is not too far away. I am going to change the car around...probably the engine bay...but more so the exterior. V90 front end? Not really sure. I already have V90 handles [not installed] and the V90 tailgate pieces [installed]. I know regardless, that I need to change the hood/cowl and have the hood painted. I planned to buy new bumper covers front and rear, have the airflow kit repainted as well. Rust repair for the battery tray.

Was thinking to change over to 92+ exterior trim and mirrors [one side has a mirror from a 92 745T, it came with the door when i changed out all 4 doors].

Planning to add a set of Hellas I have kicking around...the rectangular 550s or round 500s, either one...

Probably remove the AC since it is in the way of the external gate and doesn't function...even though I liked it when it worked. Maybe I'll just modify the system/relocate parts.

Wheels will not change...

V90 front would be really cool. Where did you find amber side markers?

Also, a V8, for some reason, seems like it would really fit the look of your car. Either a V8, or drop in a V6 (from some source)and turbo that. That'd be sick.
 
I thought about the 4.3 from a Syclone/Typhoon since I have experience with that motor...as well as the GN but Gotti has that covered :-P Although a former neighbor has 3-4 motors sitting in his dads house[where he used to live down the street], and he has a T-Type that is rusty with a built motor...wonder if he would part with it :-P

I had the amber markers, but FCP sells them as well for $30/pr, clear or amber
 
I dreamed of my car for years before I finally built it...a 960/v90 front would be hot as well, something along the lines of NCHOY...A 940 front with E-Codes and an SE bumper...do it!

Your car pulls off the ECodes so well, and the airflow kit is pretty rare. I say if your going to do anything to the front, might as well go all out and do a S/V70 frontend conversion. The V90, IMHO, just isn't unique enough, and I really prefer 940/960/760 ecodes over it.


A GN V6 would be neat, hell, anything out of the ordinary would be interesting and cool. I'd really like to see some OHC motor instead of a pushrod V8. A T5/T6 swap would be amazing, but good luck sourcing a trans with the current exchange rates (although, a bit of math, and an adapter plate could probably solve that... noone has done it yet... be the first to figure it out). A T5 with those E-Codes and the airflow kit would be pretty cool, incredibly clean. A T5 w/ a V70 swap would be the worlds first RWD V70 :zeeall:
 
Asthetically, your ride needs nothing. That is a super clean brick! It sits just right, the wheels are perfect on it and the color is great! I usually don't like that style wheel at all, but you really pulled it off!!

I vote V8, but the 4.3/3.8 options are great as well. No slushboxes allowed, though IMO.
 
where are your headlight wipers?!

In a box with another set of trim which has the holes for them. I was going to use them, but time was a factor...

I probably wouldn't wire them anyway...at least not yet.

you should definitely give me your wheels. that is the first thing you should do.

How about you can take the wheels in trade for an LS2? Works for me! On a serious note, I wish I could buy a motor from work, there happen to be LSA engines around - now that would be killer..."550" on tap.

V70 front end is far too modern. I just don't find that FWD front end appealing on an older body style...

I already have a Supra 5 speed swap for the redblock, which may find its way for the time being before the drivetrain receives a major change of some sort
 
that car looks cool how it is. dont' **** it up just for a "change."

If anything, just clean it up with a wax, wheel polish, and any little interior bits that are missing or ruined.
 
I agree with the above post. This car is the sickness. Leave it as is and start a new project on a cheap volvo.
 
Where did you get those corner lights, from overseas? Do they only fit with e-codes? or is it a straight bolt on sort of deal.
 
dan...don't its nice the way it is.

but if you must, ecodes. 940 w/foggys... amber bulbs in there, hid's in the headlights and driving lights. bwing!
