Andrewhans 240 LS Swap, Going for 8's

Day 4... the final day of dragracing! I couldn't believe I had gotten this far.

I placed 9th out of 15.
6 of my class didn't complete the event. I entered the Street Machine class which was a 10.0 index class.

There was a little weather delay where they had to dry the track off. Caused a slightly late start

But in the end we completed both passes and had such a good time together doing it. I'm so proud of her and can't recommend this enough if you're able to. So much fun.

That wasn't the end for me though bc now I needed to drive back up to NJ after all of this lol

Stopped for some food about halfway back :)

Of course we got caught in a hell of a rain storm. It got so bad we had to pull over because the windows fogged up so bad. The tires weren't the issue it was the window fog.

Fixing the window fogging issue and insulating the passenger footwell are the two biggest priorities if I get to do another drag n drive.

All said and done we did 1602 miles in 6 days. Pretty epic adventure.

Drove and raced on 93 oct the entire trip. Left the MickeyTHopmson ET Streets on the entire trip, through the rain and everything.

I prepped a lot. These events are won in the garage the months prior to the event. Best thing was the sunshade popup and camping chairs. Worth their weight in gold. Never used a single tool besides fixing one wire on the rad fan bc it was running for almost 4hrs straight due to ambient temps in the mid 90's.

I can't stress enough how amazing this was and how more people need to get out and enjoy this world. It's so fun and I will have this memory for the rest of my life.

Get out and drive your shit!

man, i remember when you lived across the atlantic and i just figured this thing was vaporware. how wrong was i?

Cool! So you had it tuned in the Denmah’s own dyno?
Oh yeah. It was a pretty cool day and I was very happy with how the car did. After the fact I cleaned up the fuel map a bit more to get the closed loop fuel correction under 5% and also played with closed loop boost too.

I would have really liked a 6xxwhp on 93oct dyno slip but the 580whp was plenty to trap 136mph at 3350lbs or so. It's making a healthy 580whp for sure.

Life just keeps fuckin me over from making progress on this thing and really doing what I want. After raceweek we had to move out of our house bc the owner wanted to move back in. We moved on base and then I got word I have a short notice deployment to Qatar(where I'm at now). here for a few more months. When I get back I have to finish our divorce(the raceweek was the last time we were truly in a great spot), then there's a very high chance I'm going to be going back down to NC for my next assignment so if that happens there wont be any real progress on the car during 2024 until maybe the very end when I get settled in the new house after another move.

The next 6-8 months are not going to be a fun time but that's life and Im just doing my best to look forward and set new goals that I can attain with how things are changing.

oh. well, the point of my post was supposed to be that the car looks like it's turned out fantastically and you were having a great time with it. sorry to inadvertently highlight your troubles.

Not at all how I took it and no apology necessary. Military slows things down with hobby's like this. The rest is life unfortunately.

I appreciate the sentiment and I truly am having a great time with the car. I can't wait to really start the next chapter with it!

Small update to add for parts. Going to be upgrading the alternator to a BrandX 270amp unit. Steady 14.8v is the goal. Currently I have a pretty hefty voltage drop at the ECU right as the secondary fuel pumps come on.
