Anyone try the VP Autoparts 240 wagon black headliner?

VP Autoparts sells a black vinyl headliner for 240 wagons:

Google search doesn't turn up any installed images. I'm tempted to put this in my wagon with a black cloth interior. I don't think I've ever seen a non-white wagon headliner.

Has anyone done this or seen it and can comment? Too dark? Too hot? Super cool?

I assume you saw the tan color one they have if you're worried about heat

Outside vehicle color will matter a lot of absorbed heat from sun, but once the heat is there, a black headliner will radiate it more to your body - so if your head is close to ceiling it will feel a lot hotter than the rest of your body (r^2 rules, yadda yadda). A white/light color headliner will radiate less to you (don't know by how much). Insulation between metal body and headliner will help some for blocking heat transfer, but internal greenhouse heat will still always be radiated.

I did
It still looks great after 7 years

Sem black

I added dynamat noise and heat mats
Made a huge difference in radiant heat, so much so that I can drive with the ac off and kick panel vents open and windows down when it’s 100f

Vinyl looks cheap, have it upholstered on a black/dark grey headliner fabric. I did that with my 242 and it’s much nicer than black vinyl

I looked for pics in your build threads but most everything seems to have been lost in the photo bucket ether. Thermal lining is a good idea white or black!
