B230ft budget drift cam?

I've had a few drifty redblock builds. My fav combo was just a simple b230ft/ipd cam/15g/7k chips with 42lb injectors and 3' maf in a 1990 740. With the t5wc trans swap, 15psi or so, and a 4.10 diff from a 16v car, 2nd and 3rd were perfect on a 225/55/16 tire. Modded knuckles, some coilovers, IPD front sway and no rear sway, dual calipers plus some bucket seats finished off the build, I did a few YT vids iirc on my channel, Wish I followed the KISS rule when I started skidding, it was an absolutely amazing seattime car and just plain worked. I'd do something like that if I was to build another, save the rest of your cash for tires and track day fees.

Although partially true, I want to move the power up. The T cam chokes on the top end. For drifting I’m going to be holding the car in the range of 5-6k. Wouldn’t a B or H cam give me a better top end?
skip a tooth on the T cam. It will be in that range.

If you are truly in that rpm range for extended amounts of time
I hope you have experimented with smaller water pump pulleys.

and at 5krpm why don't you have a dump truck turbo in there?
We sre talking about a camshaft that adds 10ft lbs over a turbo that could add 100 ftlbs of torque

Y U HATE HAICH PEES HOSS?

After more research I think the KL T3 may best fit my application and only runs about $150
Pretty sure Kolton had a KLT3 in his newest 740 drift car and ended up taking it out because the lash caps came off the valves during a run where the engine was held at limiter. Dual valve springs might fix this issue.

Yeah, valve float will do that
