I'm planning to swap my old B230FT ( 600.000km +) for a b234ft 16v.
Comparing the two engines I imagine getting troubles installing the distributor rear on of the 16v head in the bulkhead.
Who ever did this swap or knows an article on this topic.
Any information will do. Thanks.

there are different options. the 240 LH2.4 dizzy with a different cap, or make the base shorter. This can be done when you have got LH 2.4
600.000 km is not bad, whats wrong with it? using oil?

200 series distro and cap *will not fit*, theres no room for *any* cap on top of it without extensive modifications to the head.

I'm not sure, but I've heard that there are certain caps of a peugot engine that have the wires entering from the side and that will clear the head, maybe with some small mods. I believe Sten Parner Motor has them. Otherwise, there is another tbricker that has a dizzy thats shortened fitted to a B234 engine in his 240

Kenny, did you ever come to any conclusions regarding that car from russia that had some sort of dizzy in the 240 location? That thing was weird.

I'd think if you got really desperate you could cut the firewall and build a little "box" for the dizzy to fit in. It'd make a lot of things a pita, but it might have the simple/cheap factor. I'm just guessing, iy may well be that a buch of the heater box/core is in the way too.
Distributorless would be the ideal solution and probably makes sense since doing a 16v turbo in a 240 pretty much assumes running aftermarket engine management.

Is started knocking harder and harder when cold at last the knocking continued when hot, alas, problably a pistonpenbearing.
No oil consumption at all !! It uses L.P.G. by the way, so the head was with new valves two times at about 250.000 kms.
Perhaps i can fix the distributor on the front of the head instaed of the back so it won't hurt the bulkhead.
