Badger

Patrick does everything badass, minivans not excluded.

Nutcase or not, I aspire to the level of detail Pat works at. It takes serious patience and vision to put together a car as clean as he does.

I prefer to think of it in terms of being dumb enough to start and stubborn enough to finish.

When I restored VW's that was my work/daily driver. :-P

so, back then, you werent known as Tuff240; more so as 'the long-haired creep in the scalloped aerostar smokin a clove, drinking too much Dr. Pepper?'

It was "T3 Xpert" and my friends in England called the cloves "dodgy fags" when I would visit. The local UK convenience store loved me though, they'd never sold so much DrPepper.

pat d, keeping businesses afloat, one Dr. Pepper at a time.

Few more pictures and even a little weight secret. ;-)

Prior to powder coating the passenger side firewall panel I removed what is a 3-5lb solid steel rectangular "sound deadener/absorber" from the inside of the firewall panel. It is spot weld on in 3 places. I drilled out the spot welds, welded the holes up and had to metal finish the panel because it was being powder-coated.

Last weekend I prepped the core support, inside edge of front fenders and the hood hinges for paint and painted them.

I also installed the almost brand new wiper motor ( gotta love Pick n Pull ). As I was installing the last bolt it got kind of hard to turn and thinking it was probably just a little paint on the threads I tried to keep going. Bad choice because it snapped off flush. So I had to drill it out and chase all the threads. Luckily I didn't damage the threads so it was pretty easy to fix.

Tonight I fixed the main harness to engine harness wires. New wires with correct ends and colors were sourced from a late model junk yard car. With the help of Eric V. the "new" wires are now soldered and shrink wrapped. I took a picture of it all together wrapped and in place on the firewall clip, but it came out fuzzy. I'll take another pic tomorrow.

Got the zinc plating back today. The yellow zinc came out foggy/light looking so I'm going to have them redo them. The clear/silver looks awesome though. Super shiny! :)

Pictures from last night...
