Building a T6 in a 1993 960

Hello all

I am new here and have a question.
I recently purchased a Volvo 960 from 1993
In Germany with low mileage.

I am thinking to replace the engine with a T6 from a S80.

What must I do….what do I need to buy… and what must I change . Gearbox is now automatic.

Greetings from Belgium 👍

Can use the ecu from the original Volvo s80
Most probably not but I may be wrong. If the ECM communication was CANBUS in the S80 (and I think it was) it'll throw a fit because it will not be able to communicate with many components that were present on the S80 but are missing on the 960.

Thanks for your answer I will look at Max Ecu

I read dat I need the B6284T engine with gearbox M90 I must replace the oil pan .
The stock turbo’s won’t fit en I must place one big turbo with another exhaust
You can use T6 stock turbos and exhaust manifolds. Right side engine mount needs a little bit of trimming for the front turbo. Can't remember if the oil return for the front turbo has to be modified.

You can use S80 ECU if you install also CEM, harness, key chip and reader ring for the chip. And the wiring between those. Not too bad if you don't want or can't buy an aftermarket ECU.
