Coolant sensor options on an early B21 Megasquirt conversion?

I'm looking for a MS friendly coolant sensor option to fit the M14 thread hole size in the head of my 1980 B21. This position is where the K-jet thermal timer used to be.

There's lots of discussion on what sensors to use in B230 conversions where the coolant sensor is M12 threads. I haven't found anything on what to use for a B21 K-jet head however. M14 to M12 converters push the sensor way to far out from the coolant stream, so I don't think I can use a converted LH sensor.

Would like a domestically available sensor with known curve for MS programming ease.

Can anyone with a K-jet to MS conversion on a B21 chime in?

Also, I will be ripping out my B21 in March. I'll sell it to you for cheap if you can wait around that long

I'm using the stock lh2.4 sensor in my 398 k-jet head btw. One of the holes right at the back had the correct threads.

I didn't see a plethora of extra holes in the block or head, though people have claimed they are there. I'm going to snap a picture tonight so I can better annotate what I've got and what I'm seeing.

In the head and concerning the stock sensors, you are only going to be using the sensor with the single spade/yellow wire coming off of it for your instrument cluster, all those other sensors can go and one of those holes will work with the GM temp sensor. What's the confusion?

The only GM sensor I've found in previous discussions has been the one that fits the M12 threads of B230's.

Gotcha, following now. Have you checked all of the available spots on your K-Jet head? I only ask because like I said above, I was able to use the common GM temp sensor in one of those holes on both my '78 B21f and '85 B21ft. Both were 160 k-jet heads, which is what you should have as well.

If you're using MegaSquirt, you can use any coolant temperature sensor that fits, but you may need to enter a custom 3-point calibration table for it. Often, you can find factory charts that show the resistance versus temperature. Otherwise, you'll need to measure your own -- freezer/room temp/boiling. As far as I know, you'll also be fine using an adapter -- there's plenty of turbulence so that the sensor doesn't need to be sticking out into the flow path.
