240 Coolant Temp Gauge - moves but not very far

My gauge with the 82C usually read around 8 o'clock. Never gets to nine o'clock on the gauge. 91C is the hot winter thermostat. So I would recommend changing that in the summer to 87 or the 82C.

with this 91C the dial gets pretty much perfectly level. Also seems to have ended a drone that I was hearing at 2.5-3.5krpm, unless that's just sporadic. Thanks everyone!

and of course now that we're out of winter the thermostat has started to sit a bit high. I'm thinking thy put in a lower temp one since for their driving it probably helped keep temps down by starting to cool early - but I think it might be because the AC radiator has eaten a lot of crap over the years and a solid 20% of the fins I would say are decently bent / flattened - and of course that restricts airflow to the engine radiator.

Anyone have suggestions on good tools to use? I started with a pick to generally get the fins aimed forwards / unfold really bent ones - what's a good method to then generally get them straight? Some sort of needlenose flat face pliers? I think they're too bent for a comb to easily work.

I'd like to clean up the fins before deciding on long term seasonal thermostat swaps.

Right angle pick worked to un-overlap them all, will probably get one of those cheap plastic straightener sets to help align them better, but I'm pretty sure ive done the 90% critical portion for restoring airflow.
