Heres my problem, linkage to my passenger side door handle keeps falling out for no reason, i'm so tired of taking the door panel off and putting it back on. Anyone know what would be causing this?

theres supposed to be a spring that holds the handle so you have resistance when you're lifting it.

when you pulled the panel off did you see anything wrong? could always check your haynes/bentley manual as well... they probably have better info then we would.

Yes there is resistance when I lift it. And my Haynes manual doesn't really go into this in detail. Oh, and sorry for posting in the wrong forum.

I didnt see a clip. It's just a J shape hook coming down that the pin lays in. Every time you lift the handle, the J shaped hook pulls up on the pin to open the door. The pin keeps popping out of this J hook.

is this a 240 or 740?? big difference. do what i do and go to the junkyard and tear a door apart and examine that. even if you have to buy a linkage.. god bless junkyards

There should be a small spring connecting the pin/linkage assembly to the door frame. This keeps the pin firmly seated in the J shaped hook in the handle. I'll bet if you tear down the door, the spring will be floating around in the bottom somewhere.
