I was searching on the net and came across some people saying the enem v15 turbo was known for having a noisey valve train. I have checked and rechecked clearences, however get some noise of idle and goes away. Any one confirm this cam being known for that

only reason that might be is the lack of a proper shimed setup or the lack of silencers

Either way never had any issues with either of my enem cams. Could also be a high mile engine and the valves are sloppy and leaking on the seat maybe causing noise when they slap back in?

noise

Well it a rebuil b23ft from 84 completely machined head, new coushins everything. It just It was a little loisey after awhile running 1k or so miles. Reshimmed to specs and since its fine on idle but gets a little noisey at slightly higher RPM. Its not an issue just weired. Only reason I was asking I found on the volvo turbo performance site someone spec'd cames. They noted the Enems were known for valve adj issues and noisey.

I've got a TINY bit of noise (on my IPD Turbo cam, same deal though) at .012-.014, with new silencers and a head that's fresh and done right. My old 530 with 200k on it had a little less noise, but either way you really had to listen to it to hear it on either setup.

what i have found lately after measuring some enem cams , is that they use a older design with flat flanks and small radius transitions. they have a tendency to beat on the cam followers. i think that is were the noise is coming from.

here is a comparison of an enem C2 cam compared to one of our cams. the old cam is the enem C2 .

When I installed my enem V15 turbo cam it was quiet in my 275k B21FT. Then it was moved to a 405 head with new hushers and it's continued it's quiet ways.

Recently I installed an enem V15 n/a cam in my 270k mile 1993 wagon. The valve train is a bit more noisy. I did not change the hushers as I plan on eventually putting another head on that engine as well. When I was cruising the highway coming back from Carlisle on Sat I could hear the valve train a bit. But so far when I check things they are OK.

I do make sure to add a supplement to the oil that has ZDDP in it since SM spec oils don't have enough. With the cam lobe failures I've read about here over the last couple of years I think it helps prevent some premature wear.
