I'm not usually into gimicky things like this but Euro plates just belongs on the front of 240's. I'm not quite sure what to put on mine though. So far, I've got:

242 TRBO-kinda jaded, but still cool
BATMOBIL- nickname the car picked up at work, probably because it's black and its got the window louvers
TRBO BRK- represent
B230FTPWR- for the 1 in 300 that understand it, it'd be cool, to the rest, itd probably just look cluttered
random letters and numbers in the correct swedish style- the authentic look

tell me what you think i should go with or toss something new out. im open for suggestions. oh and its gotta be 9 characters or less.

put the same number thats on your original plates.

Thats what i would do. Makes it look more right, Plus in NY you need 2 plates and if the EU one at least has the right number on it you can say you were showing the car and forgot to put the real NYS plate back on. It works all the time and you avoid the $175 fine for not having a front plate on

I hate 2 plate states, they really need to get with the program and offer euro lookalike plates like austrailia does...

I just tell the cop to shut the f*ck up and never pull me over again.

No, seriously, I've run genuine German license plates on the front of my volkswagens for the past 7 or 8 years and never been pulled over for it in California. I even ran around for 2 weeks in my Ghia with no california plate at all, just a matching set of German plates front and rear. I think cops are more leinant with older cars though.

Yep.

Asshole front plate statements FTW :-D

i run my euro plate, E 350MYE
Im gonna change it to my real plate numbers though...
i have never been pulled over with my europlate on, and i have been runnning since labor day. It could be that maybe its a dually registered car, and dont want to fvck with paper work (my uncle thinks so) i dont know, im just happy not to mess with it... i keep my real plate inbetween the pass. seat and the e-brake cover. just in case....

A big +1 on the need for states, or the USA to offer a euro style plate. think it would be cool to offer a USA euro plate to >90 european cars, or jst european cars that have the style for it.... or something, but i want a USA euro style plate.
BTW:illinios is a 2 plate state.
