240 H4 E-Code Variation

Are all the Volvo H4 E-Codes the same size? I've seen a few sets that look larger than the earlier H4 E-Codes (81-85). I am just curious about the interchangeability between the two.

The front end sheet metal changed 85-86 in the USA market.

If I recall correctly other markets (like Europe/Australia) and the US made the switch over to what would be the later style "TV screen" headlight at different times. The US made the switch with the '86 model year. It seems to have happened earlier in Europe.

The other world markets got the change in 81. In the US we got the front sheet metal change in 86. So those in between years 81-85 have old sheet metal for the US models and the other world markets had the new sheet metal and head light in 81.

Must have been a bit of a production hassle to have two different sheet metal front ends at the same time.
