This can be a tricky question given how many times these cores have been rebuilt. However, those that were unmolested (original) in my experience used the same thread you'd find on a zerk fitting - 1/4 -28 UNF. Both the British Girling fronts and the German Alfred Teves rears.

Actually zerks are 1/16" x 27 npt, although the 1/4" x 28" is close enough to make zerks work if you only thread it in a little way.

Oh, that makes good sense. Until your post I'd never heard of 1/16" NPT, gauging a zerk's short (now I realize tapered) thread by fitting a 1/4" fine thread nut. Thank you.

bosch coolant temp sensor pn: 0280130032 from the back of the lh 2.4 head is m11x1.5 and does fit.

The LH 2.4 temperature sensor is listed as M12x1.5 from Bosch and I recently chased those threads with M12x1.5 tap. So ymmv.

For the block, not sure if already posted:

On the exhaust side, the drain and the coolant plug just below cylinder 1-2 and just above the oil filter.. G3/8 (NPT) pipe thread.

The hole for the sensor that looks at the back of the flywheel, for some kind of diagnostics tool on the old B19/B21/B23, checked on a B230, is M14x1.5

Addition:

Differential drain plug on my 1991 240 with 1031 rear axle: M18x1.5 drain plug with magnet, hex size SW13/13mm.
Cover bolts M8x1.25 (normal pitch), M8x25mm long for the aluminium cover, M8x30mm for the 1 bolt wich holds the cable bracket etc.
Sensor of the newer aluminium cover fitted with M6 bolt.
The aluminium cover uses a M18x1,5mm fill plug, with 13mm head. This one can be very stuck, maybe get a replacement (whiteblock oil drain plug) as a spare right away.. Bigger hex size on those too.
The steel cover uses M8x12mm and M8x16mm bolts.

Fuel filter barb to fuel pump barb correct size hose?

Instead of buying an assembled fitting, does anyone know where I can purchase just the fuel hose or hard line (Nylon 11, I think) from the fuel filter barb to the fuel pump? I believe it is 7/32'' ID.

This was the hose that was on the barbs. It wasn't leaking, but it was cracked and ready to leak:

On the flip side of the hose, it reads: 'Made in Germany'.

The inside diameter of the hose is 8mm. The fittings are measured at the barbs.

Most suppliers sell the hard plastic (polyamide) hose by the meter, including Volvo. It's a little difficult to install the hose, but it lasts forever (unless it gets twisted).

IHiperfauto, I will keep you in mind for when I do another fuel filter/ pump service. I wound up going to a local place and they gave me a piece of 1/4 fuel injection hose, and that did the trick at least for now anyway.

I gave up trying to find the small hose locally. Bought a barb to barb brass fitting at a big box hardware that the small barb fit inside. Cut the double barb in half and soldered the larger barb on the small one. That provided a standard size for install of a piece of high pressure FI hose and clamp.

Upper motor mount housing bolts which bolt to the block are 12mm head with M8 X 1.25 -these are the same size and length as the ball joint to strut housings bolts in a 240. The lower motor mounts are 17 mm. Sorry, I do not know the thread pitch for those.

From a 91' 240--

The two Ignition lock cylinder bolts are M8-1.25 X 30mm (If you don't care about security)

Belly pan flange bolts: M6-1.0x 20mm. 1/4" washers will work in a pinch.

It's M8-1.25 x 22mm grade 8.8. It's the same bolt as the ones used to hold the oil pump to the block.

Automotive OCD alert.
Have been replacing some vacuum hose on 240/740/850/940.
Fpr has 5mm port
Evap canister ports on redblock throttle body has 4mm and 8mm diameter hoses.
850 uses plenty of 5mm vacuum hose too. Fpr, hose to boost gauge. Forgot the size I used for the turbo stuff, iirc the fittings are 6mm. Replaced those years and years ago and the original stuff was already in very ugly condition (2010?).

For OEM look and feel, Gates fuel hose with fabric braided cover works excellent. DIN 73379 typ B to be exact, the stuff found on carbs and diesel injection as leak line - I used half a millimeter smaller internal diameter for a snug fit. And to complete this little job some ABA 'mini W1' or 'mini W4' hose clamps are a nice finishing touch.
The flashy silicone stuff attracts rodents and one small tear and they rip in two. This stuff is much stronger and doesn't look out of place. Just my 0.02 € for what has proven to work for me.
