What i am looking for is a turbo suitable for 300+ at the wheels with a flat tq curve, I know that there a ton of options out there but having a little low end would be nice. This will be on 93 pump gas.

Engine specs:
94 squirter block
.12 over turbo pistons new
13mm rods
new bearings all around
automotive 531 head
38mm exhaust valves
Knox motorsports porting
Cam, Not sure.

And Ms for managment.

I know that the hx35 is plentyful and cheap but i wonder if it would be too laggy and untimatly be a bit too large for my goals. What about the hy35 or the he341?

I am chosing Holset because of how cheap and durable they seem to be.

300whp and flat?

How is this?

HY35CW

@TLAO This is your 8V B230FT LH2.4 car, right? on E85? those curves look great!

i am not familiar with Holset turbo's, what kind of A/R and trim does this HY35CW have?
just curious

Stock Head, Stock intake, ghetto Header, HY35CW @ 20psi, V16 Turbo Cam, Ebay IC, LH 2.4, 75lb/hr injectors, Normal Fuel, around 95oct.

I have yet to redyno with the new intake manifold, E85 and 1000cc's that is next on my list to get done.

I used to think the HE351CW with the built in boost control valve would be the one to get, then I saw how (on MrBill's car) the vale shuts by default - not exactly a good failsafe mode.

How does an H1c compare to an hy35? I may be able to get one for real cheap.

H1C = 18-21 cm^2 exhaust housing
HY35 = 9 cm^2 exhaust housing

the H1C is a slow spooler even on a 5.9L diesel that it came on.if it spools slow on a diesel that is 3X the displacement of your engine do you think you could even spin it until like 5-6000 rpm?

HY35 for reasons above.
Owned a swapped 240SX with a H1C on an RB25 and it still came on late.....was like "wait for it-wait for it" ...tires roast...sideways.....
Fun, but by the time the boost hits the party was usually over.

HY35 or HE341/351 will keep the 9cm housing, which gives you some decent spoolability. The HX would be painful on a street-driven car. The HE341 on mine isn't bad, though it's a lot more laggy than the 15G. When it wakes up it wakes up nice though.

Home D MBC, Forge WG actuator (better than the Garrett, but big bucks new). Eventually I'll probably go with a decent MBC or EBC though.

I'm being offered a turbo from a 94 5.9 Cummings, the first year with the inline "P" pump. Which Holset is that? Is that a "good" one? I'm now having second thoughts about doing a 15G swap!
Regards, Eric
