HELP!!!

No, they don't. I work on these cars on a daily basis, for a living. Pull the RSR out and see what happens. It is merely for the auxiliary fan. The 93 245 had one of those relays. It drives the fan.

Here are the PDFs of the 1993 240 wiring schematics. See if you can find an RSR in the fuel injection/ignition system diagram. Knock yourself out.

😂 Yep jumped the wires and it?s the fan! Still stranded in South Hill, VA

We are thinking the same, but i think it's a wire rather than connector.
I've seen few rotten, especially if it was never replaced all original.

Missed this but going to check. Got caught with my pants down😩. No spare parts. Fixing a Volvo go bag when I get home!

If I was you, and had no spark, I would try pulling the connector at the fuel injection ecu located on the passenger side foot well, seeing if there is any corrosion, and then plugging it back in and out a couple times to sorta clean the connections and re-seat it. Def inspect your CPS wiring too. Could also be the power stage. Good luck bro, I know breaking down on the road is a real bummer, but that's why I always roll with some tools and some spare bits.

Along with this inspect and clean the grounds and other electrical connectors that probably haven't been touched in 20 years :-P

And yeah breaking down sucks but atleast these cars are usually easy to diagnose if you have a quick kit of tools and sensors with you

Book the room one more night. When I call shops and mention old Volvo, “we don’t work on them. New plan since nothing has worked, is to rent a in the morning go home and get a truck hauls this heap home. Been all in md and pa running great. Did leave half cocked with no spare anything. Even left the spare in PA to fit the seats in the trunk!

No spark is commonly the power stage.

LED test light to pin 5 of powerstage and crank. Blink?

Test light to coil negative to ground. Blink?

If you have signal into the powerstage, and nothing out, (coil negative) you can condemn the powerstage.

Thanks no test light with me but tried new power stage and still here. I keep telling that what ever I spend will be cheaper than 3 months payment on a new car. A remote starter and test light will be in my Volvo go bag! Got so much stuff in it I can?t here the pumps prime but they are new. Going home one way or another Thursday!

It could be a worn out ignition switch. Try triggering the starter using a screwdriver bridging the large terminal to the trigger terminal with the switch in the run position. I have seen these cars not have spark in the start position, yet, have it in the run position.
