I finally have a concrete driveway so I can properly jack up my car and, oh boy!, a world of drivetrain problems were just ripe for the discovery. I'm replacing my rear trans seal, speedo o-ring, differential pinion seal, and the central driveshaft carrier support at the moment. I also noticed all this wetness above what I think are the brake lines. I'm not sure what would be causing this exactly so thought I should ask.
Also, I assume I might as well take out the driveshaft to make all these jobs easier since they all need to be done, so I wanted to know if there is anything else I ought to do while I'm down there. Thanks!

It should be easy to distinguish what fluid that mess is right there. If you had a break fluid leak you'd know really fast. If you're doing the rear seal on an automatic it's most likely from a worn bushing, a new seal will most likely not fix the leak if the bushing is already worn.

It doesn't seem to have an odor which makes me think its not fuel. I've never had any problems with the breaks. I guess I'll just have to trace these out a little more carefully. Luckily I'm doing the seal on an m46 so hopefully it takes care of the leak at the trans.
