Homemade bigger maf .

Hi , my 3" 012 maf starting breaking down the other day and I've i had to put the standard one and injectors back in + turn the boost down .
I've tried mounting the standard insides into the 3" maf tube but it runs rich as hell , I know the swedes run up to 5" mafs on lh2.4 so what am I missing ? any help would be appreciated as the only replacement mafs I can find are cheep eBay copies and I don't want to go there . Thanks in advance .J

2.4 always runs rich if you have too much injector for the boost level / turbo combination you're runnning.

You are right about using a larger diameter piping. I did it once (put the 016 guts into a 025 pipe) and it ran well, but it was still rich.

you can always hop in the bin and turn down the fuel, but just keep a maf size thats agreeable with how much air you're going to push and tune the map accordingly.

You can put the MAF sensor inside any tube you want. To do it correctly though, you'll need to flow test the sensors output in it's new home, and scale the MAF transfer function appropriately.
