Could some one tell me what its called so i can search about it.
Or you could be nice and tell me what it does, the part number and all that stuff.
I also am looking for one to buy. Any help on that would be nice also.

Thank you TB!

most commonly referred to as the 'breather hose' if it is infact from the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) or 'flame trap'

If you don't have emissions tests, you might want to just put a breather on that bitch and block the hole on the intercooler piping. Helps to keep the piping cleaner i understand, or use a catchcan first.

that is the hose it connects to, you may or may not need that hose, I think the breather really just uses vacuum hose

Yes it will affect the way the car starts and runs. That breather hose leaking is a very large vacuum leak. 949701 is the part number. It's not a very expensive hose. Be sure to keep the foam cover because that is used to insulate the hose. http://www.fcpgroton.com can get it for you. I couldn't find it on the site so just call them to order it.

Thanks for your help everyone. I'll buy another hose. My book does have some info about the PCV system but doesn't go into detail on how it works.
I also noticed that smoke came out of the little hole where it connects to is this supposed to be there?

So far I replaced the alternator belt because it was slipping.
I know for sure my battery is not suited for my car because it came from a junker a buddy had in his back yard, I know I need to buy one of those.
and my spark plug wires are some crappy aftermarket brand and are half melted.
So hopefully after i get those things i should be alright.
