How to setup a 15g/16t/18t/19t for RWD

For sure worth the troubles though. Worlds better than my 13c, hits pretty hard at ~12 psi. I just have to solve a boost issue. If Im off boost and step on it it will hit 14 psi then creep back down to 10 and hold, but if Im on boost shifting through gears it will still hold 10 psi. Wastegate adjustment?

you are rotating the center cartridge so that the oil drain (and feed) is facing the correct direction... the FWD has the turbo rotated differently so when it rotates on the RWD the oil drain is horizontalish instead of vertical like it needs to be to drain properly

Thanks man! Sometimes I get a little confused:wtf:

Red: There are essentially 3 pieces to the turbo. The middle section has the turbine and oil and coolant lines. The front is the cold side, and the rear is the hotside. Look at the first posts on how it should look. It's up to you to align the middle section as mentioned above (oil gravity drain). The rear you have no choice as it mates to the exhaust manifold. And the front should have the exit air facing up to go to Intercooler.

What is critical is making the wastegate bracket rigid. It cannot flex or the wastegate will not be functioning properly.

man I cannot find snap ring pliers/normal needle nose pliers good enough to get the damn snap ring off my mitsu 15g...

I can't even find anything similar to thelostartof's snap ring pliers... anyone got a recommendation on where to buy one, to get this 1,000,0000 pound spring out?

Yea, that set of snap ring pliars is garbage. Then again, all that's needed is to squeeze the gigantic circlip a little bit to allow the center section to rotate to where ya needed it. You won't need to remove the circlip. I got those pliars to get the job done as well.

If you ever for any reason need to remove the circlip, you'll have to wrestle with the setup using those pliars. Getting the circlip back on with those things is practically impossible. I spent like $25 on a set of Craftsman ones and they are exponentially better and don't self destruct.

That's odd, I've personally used them on 3 different turbos to disassemble, reassemble, and clock, and they were given to me by another TB member who used them for the same thing.

I'm probably late doing this mod, but now I have to.
I have a 93 945T I was disassembling the turbo to rebuild it (too much shaft play) and when I was loosening the nut that holds the blade, the shaft broke.. What did I do wrong? Should I have heated the nut before attempting to loosen it?
Any how, now that the 13 is broke I figured I should install a 15G. I've seen some 15g's that have the exhaust (where the flanged down pipe connects) at an angle. The one in this thread seems the same as the 13 in my 945.
Where can I find one? Any body here have a good one?

Thanks

Post a wanted thread. Also check around on the FWD forums, I scored mine off an 850 guy that just had it sitting around to have a spare. Paid $30

Hey guys, sorry for digging up old thread or sounding stupid, but I'm kinda new in turbos and Volvos, so got a question :

Want to put bigger turbo on my b200ft '92. I've heard numerous turbos like "15, 16g, 19 and so on". My question is - what cars were equiped and in with what kind of engines these turbos went ? I've heard that 850s have pretty big turbos for my engine. Already have 3" straight exhaust, so I guess the diameter I'm looking for is close to that!

So which cars and which engines had these 16g, 15g, etc. turbos ? Also - gasoline or diesel? Is there a difference?

Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been listed before !
