Installing intercooler in my 83 240 turbo/help?

hey guys, i have a 83 turbo which came with out the i/c, but i have bought an intercooler,but i have been informed that there is more then just mounting it and piping it,what all do i need to do?

There's "kit" in forsake section right now that shows you what you will need. You will need intake elbow intercooler mounts and shroud something else too.

so i have all the intercooler piping and cooler in, works great lots more power, but if i hold it wide open in 3rd, 4th the turbo light comes on what is this?, im running 9.6-10 psi

at this point it is a warning light that you might want to get a wiideband o2 gauge

no seriously it's a warning light wired to the back of the stock gauge. have you disabled replaced or readjusted the overboost ignition cut under the dash, or have not quite hit it yet??

thanks for the help!, new found problem in over drive on the freeway or in forth i feel like its spolling and hitting a high rpm, but im not gaining speed and im only going 120!, could this be a boost leak?

Do you have a spare transmission?

In 4th? Clutch slipping?

naw, it wouldn't be the transmission or clutch, in 3rd the odd time ill hit 4k rpm and it wont go any higher.
