ok all.. i have some valid questions.. can the intake and fuel rail from a 88 model year engine bolt up to a say 91-92 model year B230ft?

possibly. a short answer is yes. look out for EGR, if equipped.

Cold start injector and egr would be the things to look out for.

The later model's idle control valve likely will be different, so you'll want to it and its hardware.
I've owned an '87 and '88, currently own a '90 700-series. I also have a '94 intake w/fuel rail and injectors around here somewhere, and don't recall there being much difference. The injectors have different part numbers, tho, from those on my earlier cars. Dunno about '91-92. But if you're using your existing ones, shouldn't matter.
