my tach was reading 100rpm @ idle.

I was like "WHAT??" but the engine sounds normal, I assume cause the freezing weather.

so...... is it possible for engine to idel @ 100rpm?

and if not, how do I fix this damn thing? I don't want those instant noodle cup ricer tachnometer (no offense to those ppl use it)

I wouldn't think it would be possible for your engine to idle @ 100 rpm. Even if it did, I think you would feel it in one way or another. Sometimes mine goes down to like 800 @ idle and I can feel it shake for a sec, then it gets corrected and back up to a grand it goes. I sure hope your engine isn't going to 100!

maybe ur tach is broken? eh i never seen an engine idle at 100 ,iam sure u could tell f ur engine went down that low of a idle speed,

Can't idle that low.

I can tell you that My car will not begin to fire the injectors until 275RPM. It The starter motor turns my engine over at 350-400RPM by its self.

I watch it in the tuning screen in MegaSquirt, Pretty interesting

Sam,

Go buy a cheap test style tach unit (ussualy has some other things like to measure dwell and such) and hook it up to the coil. You'll know your true rpm reading that way. Then you can trouble shoot whats going on.

Im sure you have a dead tach, or a lead thats grounding out going to the tach (though I think that would actually kill the motor. Thats what happened to my DL about 2 weeks ago).
