Further research - looks like the folks that supplied the rear window seal can also supply a trunck seal - if fact - the rear window seal may work on the trunk.....more research.

As for door seals - well, the stuff at the junkyard is in MUCH worse shape than the stuff on mine. Guess I didn't appreciate how well mine has held up over the years. Gonna send a couple of samples of the door weather stripping to a few places and see what they can do. Not holding breath though - there are some custom cuts/molds in it (around the striker plate, at the front where the pillar turns vertical, etc.) that look like they won't lend themselves to a 'universal' replacement.

Confirmed - #147 for rear windows on 242, and #134 for trunk of any 240 sedan at Danno Enterprises. The profiles are shown on Danno's web page in the 'Push-on Weather stripping" tab. Still working on the door weather stripping.

There's a 25' foot minimum Ralph. Probably enough to do another 242.....would you be interested in a very good price on the leftovers? :) Michael

I sure would Mike. I can measure tomorrow to see what 25 will cover and if it'll do two then we're in business. PM me and I'll give you my personal email which will be easier to communicate. Ralph

Let us all know the dimensions in the thread Ralph. I'm relatively certain that there'll be at least 12.5 feet left over from the windows. A bit less so on the trunk....pm'ing other info shortly.

Hi Everyone, here's the approximate but very close dimensions of what would be needed to seal one side of our 242s rear windows. I think a 25' roll will easily do one car but not two, what do you think?

Oh well - it was worth a try on the windows. We'll see who gets the trunk measured first! If you buy a roll Ralph, between us we'll have enough left over for someone else to do theirs.

After being at the boy shop for over a month, I finally got to pick it up yesterday. Totally worth the wait :) I'm only up in Jax for the weekend though so it might be slow going for a bit. But a couple teaser shots are in order here....

total was just south of $1100. That's new paint from the belt line up, a new hood that had to be painted top and bottom, then aligned, and 3 spots of coin sized rust repair throughout the body (done the right way). I got lucky cause I think business was slow when he gave me the bid and he went a little lower. Then there was also the new windshield and pulling then reinstalling the rear window that I had to pay to the glass guy.

Looking nice. Thanks for the tip on the Danno Enterprises rear window seals - put those in mine yesterday with little drama. Dremel/Cut-off wheel and a bit of black rubber cement and it almost looks like it was made for it. Found another application on their site that works to seal the trunk.

Awesome! And great project also. Glad it worked for ya.

Been back in Jacksonville working on the car for a few weeks of winter break. Got it put back together after paint, replaced a buggy LC-1 controller, and ironed out the last of the quirks and kinks with the car. I drove down to Central Florida Turbo today to dial in the power on the dyno with Rolo, the tuner. First pull produced 190 HP and 260 ft lbs, and the graph below is the final run we did. Broke 300 ft lbs! At 3100 rpm lol! I had no idea it'd make that kind of torque, and I'm really glad the M46 held up under that. I've got a video I'll get up soon.
